Their acting is what keeps it from being as good as it should be.
Spring is still my favorite of theirs.

The Lost Boys fuckin rules. It’s been forever since I’ve seen this

  5. My podcast just covered House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects! In high school, I liked the latter better, but revisiting, I found my tastes have shifted and I prefer the tone of HO1000C. Very interesting to me how those movies mimic the first two Texas Chainsaw Massacre films.

Watched Gerald’s Game last night and Strangers: Prey at Night this evening. There are a lot on my “never watched” list that I know I won’t be able to get done before Halloween, but I watch horror movies occasionally throughout the whole year so it won’t matter much.

Doubtful since he said in interviews he doesn’t consider this a horror movie

Hmmm yeah I could see how it’s more of a thriller with light horror.

Trying to draw lines about what is and isn't horror is annoying as hell

In a lot of ways I feel like “if it scares you, it’s horror”. That may end up including some unusual or “not technically horror” films but whatever. Thinking there’s a definitive line seems like needless work.

For example, Open Water is considered horror. But why? Because you’re stranded in the ocean and there are sharks? That alone isn’t necessarily horror but the situation is horrible to consider and be in, so it counts as horror. A Quiet Place requires you to be silent at all times or terrifying creatures destroy you. Yeah, that counts as horror to me.

Hell, Enemy of the State could likely be considered horror by many based on the plot but how it’s made makes most think of it more as a thriller, but that could definitely be a horror for some.

Nobody went to see A Quiet Place because they thought it was a family-driven drama.

I love Enemy of the State so much. Outside of it being just a solid film, it was shot all around my neck of the woods in Baltimore. The opening scene is literally ten minutes away from my house, it’s pretty awesome lol

Resolution (their first one) is one of my favourite horror movies of this decade. was really disappointed with how The Endless turned out too
