That movie fucked me up. Very well done but I had to watch Disney movies for a solid week before I was ok again lol

 

Just watched the trailer and I'm intrigued, stellar cast

 

I'm not sure why We Need to Talk About Kevin made me think of this, but you might want to check out a little movie called Come Back to Me.

Maybe it's the fucked up nature of Kevin that brought it up, either way, check it out because it's very good and very underrated.

 

lol...Come Back to Me was so silly. One of those rare instances where I would say the execution was better than the idea although.

 

Ending was still bat shit, which I can always appreciate.

 

I'm running out of things to watch.

 

Seeing mostly positive reviews for Conjuring 2

 

Interesting, little bit more interested in seeing it now then.

 

I'm pretty excited for it. I trust Wan to keep it at a high caliber. He seems to be pretty invested in it, giving interviews about wanting to bring integrity back to big studio horror.

 

Anything with either Farmiga sister and I'll be there.

Except for Bates Motel, that is not a good show.

 

Loved the Conjuring. Interested to see how this one turns out.

 

Screening a studio horror film for critics is itself a good sign. A majority just get released with no prescreening.

 

I enjoyed the first season pretty well, haven't gone much further with it yet

 

I get to see the original Nightmare on Elm Street on the big screen on Saturday night. This is kind of a big deal for me. Oh man. I wonder if they'll let me in with my Freddy glove.

 

Yea I stayed on until I think the middle or so of season 2, they're just ended 4 but FINALLY they're getting into the Norman Bates territory we're familiar with and care about.

 

Thinking of watching The Thing tonight, it's been a minute since I've watched it. Can't wait for the SF release, I'm still giddy about it. @irthesteve, is there going to be a new transfer for it or is SF going to use the same transfer from the Universal release? I'm not sure if you know or are allowed to say anything about it but I'm just curious.

 

I think we're releasing a bunch of info next week, so keep an eye out for that. Not a personal project of mine so I'm not 100% in the know yet

 

Neat, I can't wait. Hopefully it does, like the Universal transfer isn't awful or anything but it could be updated. Fingers crossed for the special features to include Terror Takes Shape.

 

So this in a nutshell was my reaction hearing the Bill Skarsgård got casted as Pennywise in the IT remake.

 

I'm glad I'm at the point where I can just laugh at that movie now. The news was killing me for awhile.

 

I mean, he's not a bad actor or anything and maybe he'll do a good job. However, judging by what I've seen of him on Hemlock Grove, my interest receded quite a bit. I'll just come out and say it though, I don't think they could make a movie that will make the fans of the original happy no matter how hard they try. The original is such a cult classic, they could do everything right on the checklist and still piss people off.

 

I know nothing about him as an actor, just seems like exactly what Fukunaga was complaining about in the script, trying to make it hip and get all the teens and tweens.

 

UGH I didn't know that, that's awful. Like I can just picture the hashtag campaign now.

 

I'm pretty excited for a new take on It. Pennywise was a great character, but those movies were bad. Hopefully this can put the character into a decent film.

 

I love the miniseries though it's certainly not perfect. I hate that some people think that's the way the book ends when it's actually really fucking crazy and one of my personal favorite endings ever. Fukunaga's sounded like it was going to be gold but he couldn't stand what they were doing with the script.

His idea of making the kid's portion feel like a dark fairytale sounded really interesting.

I don't really think the movie necessarily needs a new take since the original mini series was pretty far from the book.
