Forget which one it was but the kill where a person’s bowels was sucked out from a vacuum in the public pool plumbing still freaks me out.

Just watch the Always Sunny where they go to the pool to change that memory.

I’m guessing you watched the Dead Meat entry?

  6. Might be the worst one tbh. Tied with Ressurection and Zombie's Halloween 2, anyways.

Idk how you can watch 4-6 and not respect what Zombie did way more

  8. The first remake is interesting enough, in some ways more than others, but 4 is a genuinely solid entry and 6 is enjoyable in a bad/campy way

    edit: plus, Paul Rudd

I haven't seen Zombie's 2 in a while but man, the lighting and cinematography alone are enough to love it more than most entries. The hospital scene, the kills shot by headlight, even the strip club scene are very, very well shot. Even if the dream sequences don't work for you.

I still like Zombie’s remake because it delved into a back story. H2 is a mess and unnecessary.

There's just something so weird and nihilistic and off about H2 that keeps me coming back to it. It humanizes Michael moreso than the original sequels while at the same time turning him into this unstoppable constantly moving and migrating force of extreme violence and evil. I need to rewatch it to talk more about it, but this writeup is pretty good:

You, the Horror: Halloween II | The House Next Door | Slant Magazine

Plot is relatively non-important in any Halloween sequel, which is why I'm always so surprised that people get put off by the dream sequences. I'm focusing more on Zombie as a director. He's an auteur, which is pretty damn rare for mainstream horror

he knows how to shoot a movie, but I personally hated what he did with the character's backstory and I felt like all the suspense was gone. to be fair I haven't watched 4-6 in a while, but i'll still hate Zombie's Halloween haha. never saw the second one because I've never heard a positive thing about it.

the good news is, with that simple line of dialogue in the trailer for the new one, "it was not her brother, that's something people made up", everything is brilliantly kept in canon by becoming myths and legends of Michael Myers, so they're all left to be enjoyed as campfire tales. at least that's my new head canon haha.

Damn. Idk if many of you know about I-Mockery, but it was definitely a staple for me growing up. They'd do "Classic Horror Movie Moments" with gifs and funny reviews and a bunch of other features around Halloween. I always check up on them around this time of year. So I recently signed up for VRV primarily to revisit my childhood with their Nick Splat channel... I haven't bothered exploring the other channels but now realized one of them is Shudder... so what are some recs to check out on there?
