Bought the movie (Mandy), ordered a pizza. Got high and ate the pizza before playing the movie and passed out lol. Now I can’t decide if I should wait till night to watch or do a matinee viewing.

New Halloween movie with a 83% on Rotten Tomatoes. That gets me more excited. We shall see what viewer ratings are compared to the critics haha.

Showing screenings this early and not embargoing the reviews tells me the studio has full confidence in it so I'm sure the fan score should be just as high.

I can’t believe Mandy is gonna be on dvd and blu-ray the day before Halloween but that’s amazing. I thought I would have to wait months. I can’t wait to own it. such a special movie to me

October has never felt so far away.

I can honestly say that growing up loving the franchise (and obviously recognizing the quality of the sequels more so now as an adult) I am beyond pumped to catch this in theaters. I saw H20, Resurrection, and both Zombie movies in theaters, but I may actually get to leave a theater after a Halloween movie feeling great for once.

    Maybe so, maybe not.

Went to an 11 PM screening last night of Mandy. Truly a great theater production and midnight movie for people to go berserk at together, with the throbbing score really shaking the walls and driving home a sense of dread. It really hits my sweet spot of art film cinematography mixed with over-the-top and brutal gore—a truly a gorgeous movie to look at despite how ugly it can get at points.

The extreme close up shot during Jeremiah's monologue that subtly fades between his face and Mandy's face is absolutely incredible and seriously unnerving.

  21. I see that part as being her starting to see herself in him, believing what he’s saying, but it transitions back to his face because she’s still lucid enough to be like “no, this is bullshit”... not sure if that makes sense, but that’s how I interpreted that part.

My position on Mandy is that i'm not crazy psyched to see it, and i'm also not crazy about Nic Cage in a horror movies, so I plan to be overly surprised when I do get around to it. Always a great experience that way. Had the same with A Quiet Place, It Follows, and a few others.

I personally feel like Nic Cage is just one part of the movie, there is a lot of other shit that make it worth seeing
