I love the purge movies but prob wont catch this one in theaters. My family is going tonight but I work. They play the movies constantly on TV so I will wait for it to pop up there I guess

I watched the IT remake again this week since it's on HBO and I loved it just as much as the first time.

Saw IT twice in theaters and loved it both times. I am sure I will watch it a third time on HBO. Or at least certain portions like the opening and the house segments.

Ha, I literally just stared watching it on HBO like two minutes ago. I loved it so much in theaters but haven’t watched it at home yet.

Just picked up House (Hausu) since criterion stuff is half off at Barnes and Noble. Gonna watch that sometime soon, as well as Don’t Look Now which I got as a gift a while back.

Wow, I remember it annoying me at the time but the way they treated Mike is even worse during the rewatch. That’s the only part that was completely ruined in this adaptation. If they don’t give him the best backstory and screentime in part two I will never forgive them.

I watched The Strangers last night. It was terrifying and not what I expected. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.

Would Hocus Pocus fit in this thread? Yeah it's a kids film but I was just going to inform people that the sequel is finally being released book form next Tuesday.

This movie is a thorn in my side. My ex named our cat, who I still have, Binx. And while Binx is my heart and soul, my name is Zachary. If I had a dollar for every time somebody freaked and went "Like the movie!!!!! OMG that's so cute" I'd have enough to buy the distribution rights and bury that movie in history. I've also never willingly watched it because of this.

  10. My son wanted to sleep downstairs on the couch for his nap so I muted the tv and did some geeky stuff - rescan antenna channels, set favorites and removed dummy ones, etc. Then I started playing with the “apps” on Tivo, seeing what interesting things there were. Vudu kinda stuck out to me like “this dumb thing always getting touted around.” So I opened it, logged in, and saw they have free movies with ads. Ok, whatever. So I went to see what they had and there’s some pretty good stuff on there. Again, Wes is just asleep so I’m killing time. I see “I Know What You Did Last Summer” is free with ads. I LOVE that movie and it’s a 4th of July must-see! So I put it on and WOW - I don’t even know if this film is on blu ray but this HD stream looks REALLY good. Like, did Columbia pictures re-scan the film to HD/4K? Why did no one tell me this? Anyway, here’s hoping Wes wakes up before someone is brutally hooked.

This is especially heartbreaking because every single person who has ever said that is wrong on top of being annoying. His name is Thackery. I could almost see, “Wow too bad, you’re so close to being a match,” being a joke that would get old, but these people don’t even know their own reference!

    Saw Revenge today.
Very stylish film, can't wait to see what the director does next.

Sadly, not a lot to say for it story-wise. It's your typical R+R minus a large portion of the exploitation you'd usually see.
Worth a watch, but I'd wait for it to be on Shudder in September instead of rushing out to see it.

I just watched The Sacrament. It’s one of the best found footage movies I’ve seen.

I thought it was pretty good. An “untraditional” horror film. Felt like something was missing though. And for someone who has made as many films as Ti West has there were some serious illogical moments / character stupidity.

how did we see the footage from the camera on the table next to Father when they didn’t grab that when they left? Why one that one guy who got to the chopper start yelling for his friends names after just watching one of the shooters shoot people and shoot at him? Don’t think they’d hear you? Why did he not grab the gun from the dead soldier guy that he filmed for like 5 seconds? Certainly that wouldn’t be necessary. Why wouldn’t father make sure everyone else is dead (like he thinks) before killing himself?

I was thinking the same thing about the other camera lol. I remember Father gave Caroline a camera and said “I want you to film this” when they took her brother. That made me think there was another camera that the crew brought. Just a guess.

  19. Yeah, I wouldn't mind giving it a rewatch now, but I remember being so let down in theatres and it never seemed to get better when a friend would suggest we watch it

Yeah I was bummed myself. I think the movie would’ve worked much better without the whole true story/mockumentary angle, Giving the story and characters more time to flesh out.

Me, and my friends were so hyped for it. The trailer made it seem realllly creepy. It wasn’t.

Can’t remember if i said this already, but Oculus was a lot better than I expected it to be, very enjoyable. Same for A Dark Song, which I liked even more, great recommendations.

I hated the Fourth Kind. Happy to hear the general consensus is not in favor.
