Yeah you’re in for a treat. By the way, if you have the option, subtitles will definitely help you. It’s still fine to watch without though.

Was trying to decide if this ticked enough boxes to get posted here and figured I would just do it anyway:

John Cho was fantastic in the exorcist tv show. Glad he's doing more suspense/horror

That final chase through the bloody hallways at the end was so ridiculously gorgeous. The violence over all was spectacular, ranging from the beautiful to the some of the cringiest scenes in recent memory, like removing that piece of glass from that guys foot, which is still fucking with my head.

Yes! The glass in the foot...oof. The branch removal/cauterizing scene was hard to watch too.

Matilda Lutz was such a badass in this. I'm excited to see what Fargeat does next because this was such a cool, beautifully shot film. And the score was perfect too.

Yeah they're definitely ones to look out for.

The branch removal scene was such a wild ride because at first I'm thinking what the fuck is wrong with you adding peyote to this mix of horrible experiences you're having, then she did the cauterizing with a placid look on her face which is almost worse than screaming in agony, and then she has the bad trip. Holy shit, I just remembered the extended dream sequences. That was hilarious. She wakes up like 5 times lol. Great little moments like that made it really special

It's one of those VOD and limited release in theater things. I rented it on Amazon.

Finally checked out Baskin. Pretty weird, not much of a narrative, but the visuals and atmosphere were beautiful as well as horrific. Slips into torture porn territory which kinda turned me off at parts, but I stuck through it.

Not a huge horror fan but watched The Babadook yesterday and it was absolutely gorgeous. It was really unique in the way it scared me more after the fact than while I was watching.

Also, Essie Davis’s performance is one of the best I’ve ever seen. No joke. I’ve heard about the movie a bunch but I haven’t heard her performance singled out so it really took me by surprise.

just watched witch hunt lol kinda a fun take on the reunion game night turns slashy but the script and acting were real bad and also i dont think the narrative really makes a ton of sense

I think that movie was perfect up until the “bitch” line. My only gripe with it.

  20. Couldn't help myself and dropped $30 on the Halloween: The Complete Collection blu-ray set. Do any of the sequels stand out to anyone here? I've only seen the original and the Zombie films, all of which I'm excited to revisit. From what I've gathered, Halloween 5, The Curse of Michael Meyers and Ressurection are all pretty rough, but rest are worth watching for what they are.

Also very curious about the Producer's Cut included with The Curse of Michael Meyers. Apparently, the theatrical version is the absolute worst of the series and the Producer's Cut is pre-reshoots with a significantly different plotline.

When the creature presents itself in the shadows, she screams something along the lines of “this is my house bitch!” and it totally takes me out of the movie. Idk if that’s an exact quote, but whatever that line is it made me laugh both times.

Has anyone seen Victor Crowley? I really liked the first three films, but this one flew under my radar.
