i waited way too long to watch the fog

 

has anyone watched psychopaths?

i just started it. i remain apprehensive cause im so hit or miss with keating

 

just finished November. what a beautiful film. an instant favorite

Went back and picked up the Phantasm collection. In a world where Evil Dead is (rightfully) the definitive camp series, Phantasm deserves entirely more recognition. So bizarre. So good.

 

hell yea Scream is putting out In the Mouth of Madness, imo one of the best lovecraftian films and an underrated Carpenter

 

I started Psycopaths yesterday, paused it like 30 minutes in, wasn’t too into it. Finished it off today, enjoyed it much more. Not sure if it was a mood thing or I just wasn’t expecting Keating to go back to his art house style horrorafter Carnage Park.

 

Watched Mirrors for the first time since theaters.

Pretty much anything involving the dark will freak me out to some extent. I'm sleeping with the scentsy light on cause who works in an abandoned place AT NIGHT?? Anyway, that was the only creepy part. He legit holds a picture up to his tv and it cracks in response like I cannot. Then let's be honest all the prior ppl at the job did all the investigating. He does NOTHING. even the little new info he gets is from another cop doing the work. Which, wow the cop with a dark side and anger issues is so new and original. He wonders why nobody listens to him when he screams at ppl and shoots his gun constantly. So then he convinces the nun to face the mirrors. The nun hints at her weird issue that wasnt schizophrenia that the doctor made worse with mirrors but was she born with it? Possessed? I cared way more about her than Kevin Costner. So she sacrifices herself and gets repossessed or whatever and Kevin Costner has the NERVE to call her a bitch like YOU MADE HER DO IT YOU THREATENED HER WITH A GUN. And then SPOILER ALERT he gets trapped in the mirrors and it's amazing. The ugly cackle that left my body cause that bish deserved it. He was a jerk with the same pair of flared pants the entire movie. Team Mirrors.

 

I haven’t seen the movie but I thoroughly enjoyed reading this.

 

did any of you watch it yet? very curious about your thoughts

 

I saw the fog for the first time a couple years ago half asleep in a theater at 5am (it was the fourth movie during a 12 hour Halloween movie marathon) and it fucked me up. I was so tired that even the least jarring sound freaked me out

i really want to like his stuff more than i do but it just never really clicks. i really disliked darling but kinda enjoyed carnage park. its always very meh for me but i hate it cause truthfully, i really like the guy. i love the core and i really appreciate his love and dedication to the genre.

 

day off today and it's all I've got planned, I'll let you know

 

nice. I should mention that it doesn't exactly fall into the horror genre but has elements of it (and a bit of surrealism) throughout

 

oh, I know! I remember reading up on it back when and funny/tragic/strange ticks all my boxes so I'm just along for the ride
