A Quiet Place was so good. Didn't hear a sound from anyone in the room thankfully

  2. Decided to treat myself on Friday and had to choose between all five Phantasm films on DVD for $15 and The Fog (OG)/The Howling Double Feature on Blu-Ray for $8. I've only seen the first Phantasm film and the experience was amazing (my dad won tickets to our local horror con through the blood bank so my high school best friend and I got to see it on a theater screen), so I've always wanted to revisit that and am curious about the sequels, but I ended up going with the double feature because a) I needed to save some cash, b) you can't go wrong with Carpenter and c) I've never seen The Howling, but Gremlins is one of my all-time faves.

Did I make a good call? Is the Phantasm collection worth going back for?

  4. Hereditary is the only horror I can think of in June, but it's not exactly a big release. Maybe Jurassic World, since that and Halloween are both distributed by Universal.

Saw Truth or Dare tonight. It was literally the worst film I’ve ever seen. Thanks Moviepass..

Phantasm is a solid series, $15 is practically a steal. II is on my list of 80’s horror classics that get no love/gets left out of discussions, just a really fun and crazy movie.

  7. The other purchase I made a while back that I'm just now getting around to watching is The Basement big VHS box set from Camp Motion Pictures. I think I saw a trailer for it before WNUF Halloween Special, which has become one of my favorites. Basically, it's a VHS featuring this lost super-8 film from the 80s called The Basement, and then a three-disc DVD with some really low-budget films from the same time - Video Violence 1&2, Captives, and Cannibal Campout. Perfect stuff for boozy horror weekend.

I hope the physical release of A Quiet Place has an option to watch it without the score.

I hadn't heard of it until I saw the trailer before AQP and a young kid sitting next to me kept repeating how it's the dumbest movie in history.

Saw Truth or Dare last night as well. It's definitely bad, but I was still somewhat entertained by it. The cheesy smiles were ridiculously dumb though.

Truth or Dare is dumb BECAUSE THIS MOVIE ALREADY EXISTED and idk why anyone felt the need to make another concept like that. Everyone bow down to the original syfy masterpiece

This is my post about it from November 2017!!! They get forced to play and if they don't they die in brutal ways. It just doesn't have the creepy faces

It is terrible but I feel the need to constantly defend it as existing first lol

I don’t want to watch the trailer and know nothing of the plot but based on the buzz, I want to see it with a complete blank slate.
