wait... i just had to look this up... he (essentially) wrote the script for an almost shot for shot (ABSOLUTELY MUCH WORSE) remake of a film he himself wrote (and directed) just over 14 years ago. so he essentially made the exact same film twice, with the remake being probably the worst move i'll watch this year. ...what is wrong with that man?

(i didn't even get a half hour into the movie. i suddenly paused it and said, "if we're watching this... why not just watch the original? and if we want to watch something super shitty, why not watch something super shitty where we don't know what's going to happen? i'll probably turn it on to finish it to get it out of my Netflix "resume watching" queue while cleaning tomorrow, but it will likely be on mute)

Watched the Cabin Fever remake tonight. It’s a near carbon copy of the original.

Watching Open House now and this creeps the fuck out of me.

I really enjoyed it. Kind of trippy at times. But then again I pretty much love all "found footage" films.

Man, Winchester had such a cool concept behind it but faulted to only doing jump scares.

I really enjoyed this one. As well as being pretty successful with its scares, the story was great. Rare found footage movie that had me thinking afterwards.

once the actual, you know, slashing begins, prom night is competent enough - i particularly enjoyed the dance floor fight - but prior to that, good lord is it meandering in its mediocrity

New Cloverfield was decent. Ending was lame though. 10CL def the best one

I’m excited for Cloverfield too. Tempted to try to watch it at work, but I think I’d rather wait for the weekend than risk getting interrupted

Cloverfield reviews are worrying. Watching it in a few.

    I adore 10 Cloverfield Lane.

Ever since you posted this, it's been on my mind, so I rewatched it yesterday and loved it. Most of it must have flown over my head when I was younger, because there was so much insane stuff going on that I didn't remember at all.

    Great recommendation.

I agree. It was so generic. Or was it intended to feel like a sci-fi B-movie? If I were to try and describe it, probably a downgraded Sunshine, or The Core but in space.

Such a shame since the first two Cloverfield movies were so good.

It looked borderline Jason X-esque at some moments.

    1. i had a moment where i was like "am I watching Life?" again...(the ending of Life, glad they went for it)
    2. the arm. why did they show a shot of the arm in the tank at the end and then not have the arm DO SOMETHING COOL
    3. daniel bruhl will always be the german sniper
    4. i've seen too many Alien movies because the whole time I'm thinking "this lady is gonna go from human to monster or something"
    5. what the fuck was up with the guy's eye at first?
    6. this was...okay. i'll probably watch it again because i really do like daniel bruhl haha

edit: 7. chris o'dowd was the best part of this movie

I didn't hate it. Not as good as the first two entries, but also not terrible. I've seen many worse space movies.
