A top ten all time would be very difficult

maybe a polling thing? where people can vote and add their own choices? and we can get a general sense of where majority opinion lies?

not really "all time" but more, if you were forced to pick ten horror movies to show to someone who's never seen horror, what ten would you tell them to watch. "essentials" is more like it.

    Like I would think:
    Friday the 13th
Nightmare on Elm Street (I'm not a fan of this but it is essential viewing)
Blair Witch Project (gave birth to a huge genre)
    Silence of the Lambs

Eden Lake is pretty good, but i keep trying to figure out if i think kids like this really exist or not as frequently as i see them in horror movies haha

See You're Next would definitely make my top ten for the past decade. That being said I have some major blind spots, especially when it comes to foreign horror before 2013 or so (which is when I started becoming a more serious horror fan)

like they literally just burned a kid alive. is there not internet? have these kids never passed the time with porn? if I were a punk i would definitely give up after like twenty minutes of violently murdering people

But real talk let's also include lesser known horrors too, not that those aren't great suggestions Anthony

Crackle has been streaming Night of the Creeps for like a year now...one of the greatest b movies ever made, imo.

  16. I'd consider The Shining essential. It's more obscure than the other classics, but it's a great foundation for those who'd eventually get into more obscure and psychological horror.

I really enjoyed it as well, but I wish the tone within the first 10/15 minutes carried throughout the entire film. There was such a significant feeling of dread in the beginning there.

I'd definitely be interested in seeing some top 10 lists here. I'm in dire need for some suggestions..especially regarding the classics. It's rare that I give anything pre-Halloween a chance. Night of the Living Dead is pretty much the only exception.

I remember watching that movie as kid and that's the part I always remembered. I re-watched it about five years ago and realized it starred the guy who played Rusty from European Vacation
