Also, this is the movie I was talking about a few posts back. I remember the mannequin creeping me the F out as a kid and I haven't seen this movie in over a decade. Haven't even heard about it once. I don't remember what made me remember it, but i've been trying to find a copy of it for a little while now.

Wes Craven also cameos which I completely forgot about. RIP great sir.

Edit: The entire movie is on youtube....So there's that.

Watched The Mist (black and white edition) this weekend. i'll never watch it any other way again. the b&w suited that film so perfectly.

I've got Annabelle Creation on the list for today's viewing.

Agreed. I told myself the same thing after my first viewing in black and white. So much better and more fitting. Haven’t watched it in color since.

Been meaning to check out Annabelle Creation, too. Reactions seemed fairly positive in here if I remember right.

Anyone see Mr. Jones? I've been a fan of Jon Foster's since Murder In Greenwich

I've never seen an Insidious film, but I have MoviePass so I'm considering going to see The Last Key. Will I be good without any previous knowledge of the franchise?

I’m sure you will. Looks like some type of spin off anyhow. But I would recommend the first Insidious if you catch some free time.

I'd recommend seeing 1 and 2 as a double feature. If you watch, you'll understand why.

    mr jones ended weakly, disappoint

  14. Annabelle Creation was solid, but if I'm being honest, all of those Wan-spawned franchines blend together stylistically. I really enjoyed The Conjuring films, but AC didn't try anything new and neither has any of the Insidious films since the first one imho. Still solid watches in the sense that you know exactly what you're getting

  15. No idea whether they'll be good or not, but I'm curious to check out A Quiet Place, New Mutants, Halloween, Suspiria, The Nun, and The Predator this year.

Nicolas Pesce (The Eyes of My Mother) has a new movie called Piercing coming out starring Mia Wasikowska, who I think is great. Also, Lars Von Trier did a movie about a serial killer that comes out this year starring Matt Dillon and Uma Therman. I don't like his movies, but I'm always morbidly curious about them.

And of course, I'm excited for movies I haven't heard of to come out of nowhere and surprise me. Those are always the best.

The last key is kind of a prequel. I think some of the impact may be lessed and some stuff at the end that they talk about you may not get (basically the end of this film leads into the first one) but the plot isn't exactly complicated or hard to follow so you'd get the gist
