I wasn't too hot on Carnage Park, but I loved Darling. Haven't seen or heard much about Keating's latest, Psychopaths.

 

I have sat through some...bad..movies in my time. Not a problem.

 

Oh so I watched something called Digging up the Marrow last night. Decent movie.

 

The Void was fun. I do agree though it had a lot of potential that didn’t live up. The effects are great though

 

So, Darling gets bonus points already for having Sean Young in it

 

anyone see the new insidious? i dig the vibe of the trailers but reviews are predictably meh. three cheers for moviepass.

 

Nope, only the trailers. Love Lin Shaye so it will get a watch or three (just probably not in the theater)

This movie is really fuckin weird

 

Yeah, it's an homage to old Polanski shit but I really like the style. His next film Carnage Park is a lot more fun/fast paced and a different style altogether

 

i love the music in this. never lets you get comfortable

 

Damn I loved The Void, it was all over the place which was...kind of exactly what i wanted

and yeah Raw is fantastic, one of the year's best

 

Just got back from the new insidious. It's a standard Insidious movie I guess. Wasn't amazing but I didn't mind it I guess. Goes into her backstory and how did I not know Kirk Acevedo was in it??? They rly toed the line with the comedy of those guys who investigate with her tho. Like it verged into a bit creepy for me vs actually funny sometimes. Not enough to srsly condemn it but enough to make me rme.


But the real news is the trailer before it, Truth or Dare. This is literally already a movie on Syfy that already exists that I posted about recently. If they didn't play they would die and they had to do horrible dares.

Almost pulled the trigger on buying Better Watch Out tonight. Is it worth it?

 

yes i would say so. not life changing but solid

 

it was wild, definitely worth it

 

I'm a big fan of holiday horror and camp and the trailer looked great, so I'll probably snag it. Trying to thin out and then rebuild my DVD collection

 

Yeah, one of the best of the year

 

We have similar tastes so this is a great indicator. Excited to check it out!

 

I'm going to come back and gush about the WNUF Halloween Special DVD in a bit, but in the meantime, does anyone have any horror (film)-related podcasts to recommend? I don't even think it's active anymore, but I might check out the Alternative Cinema podcast based on the trailers on this DVD

 

Horror Movie Podcast is my all time favourite podcast. They should put out their top 10 episode in the next day or two so that might be a good place to start to see if you're into it

 

Before I Wake was great. Mike Flanagan is just the best. Another movie like Occulus that could easily have been a Stephen King story ( they even have their own version of the Shining!)

 

I wanted to like that really bad, was his first dud in my opinion but it's been a while, I'll give it another go eventually
