i may get better but we won't ever get well Prestigious

it was super sexualized - naked teen girls, slow mo, soft lighting, close ups, voyeuristic framing, gentle music

if the whole thing was absurd I'd be more on board, but it was mostly boring until the end. I feel like it could be cut down to like a solid hour or something and not lose much

    Doing fine. Prestigious

To each their own for sure. Just definitely wasn’t my cup of tea. I agree it was very unique, but being original doesn’t always equate to being quality. I saw this movie at a film festival. They did a webcast interview with the director. I can’t remember the specifics as it was quite a while ago. I just dislike the absurdist view point, regardless of medium. But to make a meaningless movie designed as way to mock people’s attempts to find meaning in things, to me comes full circle and is exactly counter to the point they are trying to make. I dunno haha. I feel like I’m not making sense and I’m reading and retreading my thoughts with no better way to put it haha.

  5. I liked 1922 quite a bit. Really great performance from Thomas Jane. I guess it's been a good year for Stephen King adaptations... mostly.

  9. I really loved It Comes At Night. Wasn't nearly as slow as I was expecting based on some of the reactions itt and the tension and symbolism throughout was unreal. We have been (and still are) in a renaissance of horror.

I'm still pretty conflicted on this movie. It was well-acted, extremely tense, and had me on edge many times. But, I was really, really unhappy with the ending and felt pretty cheated.

can't be made fun of Prestigious

i have had It Comes at Night waiting to be watched for ages. i just honestly can't get down with infection flicks for the most part, but i'm sure it's going to be an exception.

It's a step up from most generic infection spreading movies, i'll give it that. I'd say the only one to top it would be 28 Days Later, and early Romero work.

I wish Rob Zombie would go back to music. I don't know why anyone enjoys his movies, not to mention what he did to my all time favorite Horror series.

  18. Have you listened to his episode of the You Made It Weird podcast? It was last week I think. It was great! I also had no idea he was the front man of the band Volcano! I'm Still Excited. An old Polyvinyl band from the early 00's.

    Goddamn, man child Prestigious

I am not a huge fan of the child's play franchise. For some reason the kills make me sadder than other movies. Maybe cause they lost against a doll which is kind of sad on principle. can we not just punt him down the stairs or something

I'm not a fan either, but I had seen all the others so I figured why not. Didnt expect it to be as bad as it was given it got positive reviews.

I finally just finished cult of Chucky today cause amc played it, and now they're playing child's play so I'm watching it and it's okay but just a weaker franchise to me. The movies used to terrify me as a kid like maybe more so than any other (prob cause it involved Andy and a doll and was more relatable to my child self) but I wish I liked them more as an adult!

I am appreciating Andy's casting more tho now. He was a cute lil child actor and isn't rly annoying
