Raw would be my recommendation. Unless you’re in the mood to continue with brainless/straight forward horror (don’t mean that in a negative way), then I’d go with The Void. Raw is just a great film by any standard. The Void has a paper thin plot, essentially it’s just a vessel to showcase old school practical effects and gore. I thought it was a blast.

Yeah, that's actually what I'm trying to teeter between. Part of me has been enjoying some kind of goofy stuff, but the other part of me is craving something deeper. Pretty sure I'll be watching Raw at some point this week either way - it's been only my personal list for awhile and just looks fantastic.

I still don’t like that movie. J-Love was one of my first crushes though.

    No Fun. Not Ever.

Just watched Raw last week. I thought it was really good and I appreciate any movie that can make me uncomfortable.

I planned to binge all the Saw movies over the next two days, but shudder added a huge Universal Monsters collection and threw a wrench in that plan.

Just watched Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan and my word is that film stuffed with missed opportunities. Would have been great had they mixed the slasher genre with the disaster genre, Poseidon Adventure plus Jason would be great.

It’s hilarious that 75% of the movie is not in Manhattan. And the Manhattan scenes were filmed in Vancouver, except for the Times Square part.

That toxic waste scene made the wait worth it though because that was hilarious.

Started watching the Exorcist television series. Honestly really good stuff. Sometimes it gets over the top in a way that reminds me of AHS, but its done muuuuch better here

Watched Jeepers Creepers last night, and it’s still pretty solid.

Shame that dude is a gross pos.

Re-wtched Pet Sematary last night. Despite some shoddy acting and how dated some of it feels, it is so solid. I think King's gone on the record and said that PS is his book that terrifies him the most.

The sequel was one of the earliest movies I distinctly remember scaring me as a kid. Special place in my heart for both films, despite their flaws.

Watched Raw this morning. Wow, great film! Very well shot and full of really unsettling moments. The narrative relied on imagery in a way that I felt really "drove the point home" and none of the gore (if you can even call it that, really) overstayed its welcome or felt absurd.

Guess that means onto The Houses October Built, A Dark Song or The Void tomorrow depending on mood. The Transfiguration and Hush are also on the menu, totally forgot about those.

Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday is atrocious, looks like a violent TV movie.

Depends what you have access to because I'd recommend something random that I bet most people here haven't seen.

This flawless masterpiece. I think it was the introduction into horror for a lot of my peers. It wasn't for me, but it will always have an iconic feel to it maybe cause it was such a big deal and ushered in a lot of terrible but entertaining copycats idk.
