I watched the original Halloween lastnight (for the first time ever). Some of the acting was a bit silly, but overall, I loved the movie.

 

Has anyone watched Gerald's Game on Netflix yet? I'm pretty interested to see it but I rarely watch movies anymore

 

been meaning to watch it for the last two days. hopefully I get to it today

 

ah man, that's awesome. one of my favorites. yeah some of the acting hasn't aged the best. I've been revisting and checking out some 70s and 80s horror I missed and I've definitely found that some needs to be watched with it's era of release in mind haha. Like Fright Night, super early 80s haha. but thoroughly enjoyed it.

 

Fright Night is such a gem

 

It's great. Not sure how well you can handle violence but uh.... buckle up.

 

I have never cringed harder while watching a movie

 

the only thing that really grosses me out Is broken bones. Anything like that?

 

Gerald's Game was solid. I love when a horror movie is anchored by a great performance, and Gugino was great. Flanagan continues to impress.

Sounds like The Ritual will be going to netflix after its UK theatrical run (oct 13). Don't have a time frame for when it's going on netflix but I hope asap.

 

The scene I cringed the hardest at in Gerald's Game was not the violent one.

Phenomena was actually fucking ridiculously amazing, i did not expect it to live up to Suspiria but, in a totally different way, it does

Gerald's Game was great but I don't have any desire to see it again. Shit was way too fucking draining. Ha

 

Gerald’s Game was great. Kudos for taking that kind of subject matter head on. I guess the epilogue is taking heat, people felt it was clunky. I really thought it was great to see her confront the moonlight man and take control of all the mental trauma she’s suffered thru the men in her life. without it, I feel like the film would have lacked purpose. And I’m not sure how else it could have been done.

 

It felt clunky to me in the book, too. The idea is fine, but the delivery feels like a long footnote

Going to the local premiere of Better Watch Out on Saturday. So excited. I've been looking forward to it since last winter
