Most promising "stuck in pool" plot since Mac and Charlie

 

I'm incredibly claustrophobic so that was something.

 

I missed both of those :( Howl I remember really wanting to see and the I just never did. Wer I'm completely unfamilar with. But thanks for putting them both on my radar. I really need to search them out.

My list is semi standard as far as werewolf goes:
1. American Werewolf in London
2. Dog Soldiers
3. Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman
4. Ginger snaps
5. The Howling

 

So... is everyone as hyped as I am to see Adam Wingard land something huge like Godzilla vs Kong?

 

how are the girls in the pool not screaming at the top of their lungs the second they hear footsteps approaching? dude's just doing his job

hard for me to imagine a plot line where the guy who puts the chlorine in the pool is trying to destroy some young swimmers

 

so the question becomes is it a movie about a killer pool guy or two people who make a lot of really poor decisions?

 

My biggest fear growing up were pool sharks. Let's hope that takes full advantage

For the majority of that scenario it wouldn't be that bad. At least like a foot between water and cover, an air hole for fresh air, lane ropes to lay on to reserve energy. Most of that didn't strike me as that bad, but I'm more of a fear of heights guy than water / claustrophobia so maybe that's why this did diddily for me.

 

Agreed. The whole situation didn't bother me at all. I was redeemed when they showed Tobin Bell up to some potentially nefarious acts. I'm lukewarm on the whole thing at this point

 

I'm sure the movie will be complete shit, but the trailer definitely made me nauseous.

 

Is Tobin Bell technically considered the most recent horror icon?

 

Agreed. Not knocking what scares people but I was seriously wondering if anything else was going to happen to make this a bad situation / scary as it just seemed moderately tense / annoying more than anything.

 

Other than endless zombie bullshit, I'd say yes.

Seriously seems like the last ten years or more will only be known for walkers / zombies / whatever they're called when someone doesn't just want to say zombie

 

I am not a fan of water so I'm like nooope. It would only be worse if the pool was filled with flesh eating dogs aka my other least fave things

 

Yea, I can't think of any horror villain that has surpassed two movies other than Victor Crowley from Hatchet. But even those are too campy to really be in the same vein as any of the other true horro icons. Jigsaw/ Kramer I guess would be the only real villain to last consecutive films. I'd think Ghost Face was maybe the only one prior to him. Unless you wanted to maybe argue the entities from The Further in the Insidious movies. But I don't remember there being a singular villain through them.
