I've been contemplating this for awhile now. I'm guessing you'd definitely recommend it?

Yeah I'm looking through all of the collections now and I don't know where to start. Probably the Dahmer documentary.

What can I stream Shudder on? I prefer to stream through my PS4 or my Xfinity subscription.

  7. I know you can stream it through Amazon if that works for you. That's how I preferred to use it.

What are you guys thoughts on Ti West, Joe Swanberg, Adam Wingard, that whole crew?

I've only seen the first VHS and I turned it off halfway through cause I found it to be incredibly boring. One of the few movies I've ever started and didn't finish.

    Edit: is that them???

Not sure how deep into it you got, but To West did the one about the couple on the honeymoon, and Joe Swanberg did the one centered around a video chat. Adam Wingard did the frame narrative, but there's not much going on there

As for Ti West, I really liked House of the Devil and The Innkeepers (haven't seen The Sacrament) but thought In a Valley of Violence was a good western. For Joe Swanberg I've only seen a few of his non-horror. Adam Wingard I liked You're Next but Blair Witch was meh.

I really like most of what Wingard and West have done; House of the Devil is one of my modern favorites, and I love You're Next. I'm not a big mumblecore fan, but Swanberg is definitely among the best.

Love. Amy Seimetz is the greatest.

If you (the thread you) haven't watched A Horrible Way To Die, take a couple hours to watch it. I also personally really enjoyed The Sacrament - I've watched wayyyy too many found footage movies and this one felt refreshing

I really want to see more horror from mumblecore folks. It doesn't have to be in mumblecore style, but they bring such human focused naturalism to their work that i think interfacing it with horror could present some of the most insightful work of the genre.

But, I think Swanberg is on a different level from the rest of his associates

I haven't, seeing comparisons to Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer which is a pretty good thing. But I'm not a big Adam Wingard guy, between You're Next and Blair Witch neither of his films I've seen did much for me

Adam Wingard & Simon Barrett is my favorite writer/director team, been that way since I came out of an advanced screening of "You're Next" back in 2012.

Also anyone that has Shudder should go watch Ghostwatch immediately. One of my all time favorites.
