Netflix's new rating system pisses me off so much. Every shitty horror movie is rated as 5 stars now because I've watched my fair share of shitty horror. At least before if I watched a 1.5 star film I knew it was because others thought it sucked and what I was getting into.

 

Here are some Netflix recommendations for you.

 

I watched a really strange Russian movie called III: The Ritual tonight. It's a very impressive and unique movie visually as everything just looks so surreal. It really captures that nightmare vibe the director was obviously going for. I kind of lost track of the plot in the last 20 minutes but I don't care because the film is just so great to look at. Has anyone else watched this movie? I need some more recommendations of surrealist horror movies like this.

I've never seen Sleepaway Camp and I'm thinking tonight's the night to change that.

 

DO IT! Such a fun movie. The second one is fun too, albeit in a trashy way.

 

Having Shudder through Amazon was such a good decision.

Pamela Springsteen (Bruce's sister) is crazy bonkers in those films. Patrick Bateman-like sinister before there was Patrick Bateman.

 

How's that work?

 

You can purchase a sub through Amazon, it's still $5 like a normal sub. The catch is, you have to watch the movies through Amazon. I don't mind it though, since they had captions for movies and Shudder doesn't beyond foreign films.

 

Oh I did a trial for Shudder through a service called VRV a couple weeks ago and one thing I didn't like was the lack of subtitles. If I do it again I'll probably go through Amazon I guess

 

This is still my favorite discovery off Shudder.

Raw was brutal and I loved every second of it

FWIW I guessed the ending but that was a really fuckin weird last scene

edit: 2 minutes into the sequel and probably not going to watch it, i can do without the "he, she, whatever, got out blah blah"

 

Yeah, it was well filmed in terms of suspense and framing and that awful sound, but it's a little dehumanizing haha.

I had my girlfriend watch the movie with me laat month and her reaction to the end went from screaming, to 'what?!?!' to literally crying from laughter and confusion

 

My girlfriend and I watched The Void lastnight. Woosh! What a movie! haha

 

I need to see this, keep hearing good/weird shit about it.
