  1. I haven't seen the original It. Does it actually hold up well enough to watch now? Or should I just wait for the new one?

  2. Soft recommendation for The Devil's Candy. The family dynamic and parental theme are effective, but the scares felt mild to me. At a brisk 80min, it's an easy sit.

I still love it. It's kinda tame considering it was made for TV 27 years ago. But Tim Curry is astounding with a great cast (John Ritter, Harry Anderson, Richard Harris, Tim Reid, Annette O'Toole). Lots of great visuals that don't seem dated.

  4. Also, how is THE LOVED ONES?

Let's not forget Seth Green. He should be mentioned in the same breath as all the ones you mentioned right?

I personally hated it but it's widely loved and acclaimed. If you like the idea of teen prom meets gory psychological scares, it's worth a look solely because it's got a goddamn 98% on rt

I love it, but it's gruesome. If you're a fan of the genre, you'll most likely enjoy it.

I thought it was awesome. Would recommend it over The Devils Candy any day.

Has anyone here seen david lynn bousman's new one Abattoir? The concept was amazing - basically some dude buys houses with violent crime scenes, tears them down and uses that material to build a single house where everything within was from a crime scene.

Something like that, it came and went for whatever reason.

  11. Yessss haha. Still never saw this movie, though.

You can sort of see it on the back of the box, but that's a naked Shannon Elizabeth getting attacked by a snowman in the shower. That's the only part of the movie I remember.

I had no idea that anyone even knew about this movie. Never met anyone who has. Can't believe it has that high of a rating. Personally I absolutely loved it. It also made me want some KFC afterward.

Does anyone remember the movie (I think British?) where some unpopular kids threw an "after prom" party and invited a lot of people from the school. When they got to the party, the essentially tortured and killed the popular kids that picked on them.

I might be getting this confused with another movie that revolves around two guy and a girl, in a remote cabin, with a similar outcome (torture/revenge).

Just watched Train to Busan with my roommate while we demolished a box of assorted donuts. What a great night

Also, The Loved Ones is fantastic

Yeah, he does a good job of pointing out how bad the movie is when it's not focusing on Pennywise. To @bradsonemanband I would just find a supercut of the Pennywise scenes on youtube and watch that video. Save yourself a bunch of time :-)

I thought it was a great concept with questionable execution. A sequel is supposed to be in the works, which could be much better. Here's my review.
