Going to a horror convention tomorrow. I'd like to meet Tony Todd and Robert Englund and all that, but I'd rather spend my money on movies, posters, and toys

 

Knock Knock was awful. i have no interest in seeing any more Eli Roth movies from here on out

 

The only horror movie that I couldn't really stomach and had to turn off was Hostel. I'm not 100% sure what bothered me so much about it besides paying to kill people.

 

The very best I've seen recently: Hush (7), The Invitation (8), It Follows (8), The Witch (9).

The very worst: The Forest (3), The Grudge US (4), They're Watching (4), Southbound (5).

I'm really alone in thinking The Grudge was alright, huh

Not that it's great or anything, but pretty true to it's predecessor and moderately creepy

Hellions was ok. Wish there was more to it. The Invitation was great.

 

Has anyone here seen Ghostwatch? I watched it recently and holy shit it was good and actually scared me for the first time in a long time.

 

is this the British mockumentary, similar to War of the Worlds? a friend of mine swears by it, but i've never seen it.

 

Apparently it's on youtube in glorious 240p if anyone's interested. Haven't seen it, so I might check it out.

 

Yea, actual English broadcasters were used (I think that was the rumor) and there was even a disclaimer before it aired...only issue is that the public audience didn't see it because the show prior to Ghostwatch ran long.

When the movie starts, there is a number blasted on the screen saying to call in with your ghost stories, but if you were to call, you are told that what you're watching is fake. Problem with that was the lines because so busy that no one was able to get through.

Basically what people figured is that the show was real since recognizable people were putting it on. Paranormal Activity HAD to have gotten at least a little inspiration from this. There are some genuine moments of creepiness and the ending left me really uncomfortable.

 

I watched Ghostwatch recently because my fave podcast did an episode on it
