My Little Eye was okay. I feel like I've seen better versions of the rich people pay to watch poor people die concept

  2. Interesting director and writer choices, but hey if Carpenter believes in them, maybe!

The only Argento movie I've seen is The Bird With The Crystal Plumage. Is that Giallo? its only been a few months but I don't remember much about it

And Horns wasn't bad. not like my favorite movie but I thought it was a good adaptation

  13. So good. I wonder if @Kiana might dig it. What, with its campy 70s B movie feel, it's feminism and it's banging makeup

Crystal Plumage is Argento's first film and a landmark of the giallo genre. If you dug it, there's lots more to dive into. If not, you probably won't be into many of them.

Any other recent stuff similar to the Love Witch? I guess in terms of stylistic choices.

Just watched Mercy on netflix. It was written and directed by the same guy who wrote Buried and ATM, so I couldn't shake the feeling that I was waiting for some sort of third act punchline. Not sure how I feel about it quite yet. Going to rewatch at least the first 20 minutes

I didn't realize when I first saw Rob Zombie's Halloween that she played Laurie's friend. Danielle was close to 30 years old playing a teenager, convincingly well

Yeah, it's crazy. Bianca Lawson is another actress that plays characters much younger than her actual age. I remember seeing her in late 90s sitcoms playing a teenager, and then again in 2010 playing the same age. Good genetics, I guess.

Maybe someone could help me with this scene that has been stuck in my head for a few days now, and I just can't remember what movie it's from. Also my Google-fu is not the best.

Basically there's a part (and these details are rough and possibly not all accurate) where there is a person restricted from movement, and another person has a glass jar with some sort of bug I believe it was in it. They then preceded to press the open jar against the restricted person's stomach, put a flame under the feet of the bug, so that the only way it could escape the heat of the flame was to dig into the person's abdomen. Is this ringing any bells for anyone?

They used that device in 2 Fast 2 Furious but instead of a bug it was a rat.

Yes but I can't think of the name. Will report back.

There was a scene that involved a rat and an undercover cop. The cop always looks the same - shaggy hair and long beard. He's overweight and basically plays the same character in every movie.

The person who put the rat on his stomach used a blowtorch on the bucket, and this happened in a backroom of a club.
