Right. The "MTV demographic." I know that's an outdated reference, but it still fits.

It's a fun mix of comedy and suspense. It really taps into our natural fear of old people, especially as kids.

  3. The Visit was shameless but really really fun, so I'm definitely looking forward to Split.

I am watching Lights Out for the first time since theaters and I love the boyfriend even more the second time. Ur just like... sleezy looking dude he's gonna die immediately BUT HE'S NOT and he's quick thinking and is a nice person who is patient with commitment issues!!

I need to rewatch that one, but it was my least favorite wide release horror movie of 2016

    So I might as well:
Don't Breathe > The Conjuring 2 > Ouija: Origin of Evil > The Boy > Blair Witch > The Shallows > Lights Out

So it was the only one of those I didn't especially enjoy

I've seen a lot of people say they liked it. I thought the ghost stuff was good but I didn't like the characters iirc

I actually really liked the characters. Usually with those kinda movies the characters are flat but I thought they did a decent job fleshing them out and making them relatable and a lil more complex than just the stereotypes I was expecting. They also didn't do the classic mistake of showing the ghost. They do a liiiiitle but not enough to ruin it. I could def see how ppl are meh on it but I really enjoyed it and it was a fave of last year! I'm also a sucker for any movie playing on a fear of the dark tho cause screw the dark it's dumb

I'm not sure why, but Texas Chainsaw. Horror movies are gross and sometimes make me feel sick, others make me jump and build tension, but for some reason TCM just terrified me, more than Jaws or anything else.

Saw Insidious for the first time this year, and I wouldn't say terrified. Though some of those scenes with them hinting at the demon were p creepy. A lot of the movie fell flat esp the last act, but I enjoyed it. Sequel was kinda meh.
