Well, I ended up signing up for Hulu. Gonna try to see House this weekend (and other Criterian movies I've been meaning to see in the next two weeks)

didn't really care for The Innkeepers. felt very typical in its horror, and annoying in its humor.

Krampus, on the other hand, i liked a lot. got away with a lot more than I would have expected on a PG-13 rating, and I wish it would have gone further, but the monster design was really sweet. not too big a fan of comedy-horror so the more humorous-scary moments were eh, but overall a solidly creative effort that I'd expect from the guy who gave us trick r treat.

Just watching this, I'm wondering if it was an influential to Sam Raimi when he made the Evil Dead movies.

Loved Day of The Dead. Gore effects were phenomenal, and the social commentary helped too

Went into a secret screening at the Philly Film Festival tonight, everyone was under the impression that it was going to be Split but it ended up being RAW. It was awesome!

There are secret screenings like that? Where the audience doesn't even know what they're in for? Small town me is enthralled. How do you hear about something like that?

It was part of the 11 day annual Philadelphia Film Festival. Just about every year in the "Graveyard Shift" section where they play horror/"extreme" action films they do a secret screening where you have no clue what you're walking into. 2 years ago it turned out to be Goodnight Mommy, this year it was Raw.

Watched You're Next, and started Late Phases before leaving to go to my family's house for pumpkin carving. Liking LP so far. Tom Noonan is an added bonus.
