  1. Just saw a tiktok clip that Amy and Demi are on Actors on Actors together and that got me thinking Nightbitch is kinda like if you took some of the themes in The Substance and applied it to motherhood (although that comparison might be an oversimplification of both)

Unrelated, but my comedy horror script got a 7 on the Blacklist (which is good). You really want an 8 but a 7 is a score that could actually get made.

I have no idea what to do next but I did feel really good about it.

  3. Opus and Rabbit Trap sound great.

Terrifier 3 is the first one I was able to finish. Like the others, there was a lot I liked about it and a lot I didn’t. The fact that I was able to finish it means it was my favorite of the three, and the Christmas setting definitely helped with that. I do think Damien Leone has a great movie in him and I’m excited to see more of Hell because that 15 seconds or so was dope. I find Art an effective icon because when he’s on screen you know it’s going to end as horribly as one could imagine, and I absolutely love how Art and Victoria looked.

And again, just like T2, the aesthetics were by far my favorite part of this movie and I think this looked even better than 2.

Sanctuary is great. Margaret Qualley is on such a roll, very excited for whatever she does next.

I’m inspired by Letterboxd’s favorite four videos slightly here. I’m not asking for your favorite or best list necessarily here though.

Which four horror (or horror adjacent) movies (that I assume you still love) do ya’ll think shaped the early years of making you into a horror fan?

    My list:
    1. The Great Mouse Detective
    2. Scream
    3. Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island
    4. Blair Witch Project

I don’t think I’d be here without those 4. These were all by age 7, so two of those were young. Lol I’m sure I saw a thousand other movies and tv shows that could be on that list, but these 4 are seared into my brain forever.

Bonus pick: Dawn of the Dead (1978)
I think I saw it for the first time when I was 11 at a friend’s sleepover. Perfect movie and made me obsessed with zombies. Shout out Zombie Survival Guide and World War Z. I thought I was cool so I stabbed myself with a pin and made a bloody fingerprint on my cover of ZSG. Fun story.

  24. i dont think i had any formative horror as a kid. if anything The Ring turned me off the genre for a decade. funny how something that traumatized you as a kid becomes your favorite archetype of horror (It Follows, Smile, etc)

if i had to pick four then probably Doctor Sleep, Midsommar, Raw, and The Babadook, but obviously those all came out when i was very much an adult

I'm pretty sure all of my horror taste was shaped by TV lol. the early Treehouse of Horrors, the Ice episode of X-Files, the Ramses episode of Courage the Cowardly Dog and the Weeping Angels in Doctor Who. that's pretty much my whole taste right there
