Did The Blair Witch Project last night. Never gets old.


Talk To Me today. Definitely not as creepy when I first watched it but still is great.

 

My yearly rewatch of the modern classic: Hubie Halloween.

 

Maybe I'm predisposed to love a Christmas horror movie, but Terrifier 3 is pretty easily the most I've enjoyed a Terrifier film from the get-go. There's good balance of lore and good old fashioned kills this time, it references all the right predecessors and subgenres (lighting-wise, it looks like a 70s giallo at times), and Lauren LaVera and David Howard Thornton are legitimately great. I feel like Art really earns his reputation as a slasher icon here. I do think the brother is a really bad actor and the decision to portray him as a college student despite being 15 and still having a prepubescent voice when they filmed this is hilarious, and ultimately, not unlike the second film, I started to feel the length during the film's climax. (Ultimately, I think the kills were less mean-spirited this time in a good way, except for the aunt, which was a bit of a bridge too far for me. I do worry that the length of these movies and their apparent need to continually escalate in depravity might actually hold them back from ever being truly great, but this is pretty easily the closest they've come for me. Hopefully that trajectory in quality continues.

 

Watched Scream 2 for the first time and Jennifer’s Body for another rewatch. Having a fun Halloween time.

 

I’ve tried Hubie, but the beginning just never hooks me.

Finally checked out The Toxic Avenger tonight. That was something lol. I enjoyed it but my wife was on the computer in the same room and I could feel her judging me the whole time haha

The '92 Buffy movie was awesome. Had no idea it had so many big names in it. Have never watched the show (and I know the two are not connected), but the movie was a fun PG13 90's ride.

 

I’ve given the movie a couple chances. Sandler’s schtick and idiot friends just annoy me too much.

the premise is totally something I’d normally be into, so I’m bummed it doesn’t work for me

 

Fuck Spyglass, but I’ll pirate this for another slasher with Mason in it.

it's already November 1st here but I got drunk and fell asleep watching Halloween last night as John Carpenter intended, so happy Halloween horror thread!

 

I need to finish New Nightmare, but am thinking about DGG's Halloween trilogy in the background tonight

-Mom's Got a Date With a Vampire

 

Hmmm...also having intrusive thoughts about Prince of Darkness tonight...(watch me go with none of these)

started off Halloween by finishing Agatha All Along haha. great show btw, would rec to even non-MCU fans

 

since i'm no longer showing these to my friends I thought I might watch The Night House and Resurrection today, have myself a little Rebecca Hall double feature
