It certainly pays respect and homages F13 but it’s not connected in any way

 

I mean the movie is heavily influenced but Friday the 13th but it’s not Jason lol

Freddy vs Jason was bad enough

I made it like 20 min into When Evil Lurks haha

 

Picked up a couple of the Halloween releases at Walmart, especially You’re Next as part of my reconciliation with Ti West for the X trilogy. Need to go back and get Wolf Creek.

 

Because it was bleak, or because it was late? Lol

 

I haven’t seen IAVN yet but I saw someone describe it as Friday The 13th directed by Terrance Malick and that has me so curious.

Late! Not even late tbh. I just can’t do it anymore. I really dug When Evil Lurks and it was one of my faves from last year. I was just pointing out how I barely made a dent in the marathon haha

IAVN is probably my favorite of the year

 

That was mine until I watched Abigail. I can’t get over how funny it was.

 

I was kind of underwhelmed by Abigail but it was entertaining enough

 

Same so far

 

I didn’t know anything about the film except for the obvious. So I went in with low expectations which helped and I’m also a sucker for dark comedies.

 

TV Glow and Bottoms still my fav this year, but most movies have been solid.

 

I still have a lot more movies to see

 

thought you’ve seen a lot of this year’s releases but guess not as many as I had thought

 

You could probably watch a horror movie everyday and still not be caught up.

 

Longlegs, Cuckoo, LNWTD, Maxxxine and now Romulus are the one I haven’t seen yet.

 

I think TV Glow, MaXXXine, and Lisa Frankenstein are my favorite horror films of the year so far (the former being my favorite period), but IAVN is probably top five and I'm excited to watch it again.

 

There's been so much great horror this year imo
