For a Tuesday night showing here in Chicago, we had about 40 people which was about 25 more than I expected. Granted it is the cheap ticket night.

  2. We had a group of like 8 and there were three other couples that came in, I think. AC was broken in our theater which was rare but honestly added to the film lmao

I saw it at 5:00PM on Tuesday in Boston. At first there were three other people in this massive theater, so everyone was nice and spread out. Then a couple came in just as it started, sat directly in front of me, and proceeded to not-really-whisper and obnoxiously gesture towards the screen for the entire film.

I just have the worst luck, haha.

It is pretty cool to see a Shudder Original making it into theaters and doing well. I remember a time when I wondered if Shudder was gonna have staying power and even remain a service early on

  5. For sure. I was day one with Shudder in college and I gotta tell ya, those early days were rough lol. Their biggest get was Sadako vs. Kayako

I think JBB and TLDI really gave it a big boost. Also the advertised involvement in AMC+ helped I'm sure

  7. Speaking of, Joe Bob is bringing back Summer School from the Monstervision days starting tomorrow on night! The clue had something to do with quantum physics, so my guess is Prince of Darkness.

  8. Guys I'm scared haha you're not really filling me with confidence here. I'm worried In a Violent Nature will be too much for me but the concept is like so cool. Maybe put the most brutal kill in spoilers? I'm having trouble deciding

IN A VIOLENT NATURE SPOILERS FOR TWO DEATHS - READ AT YOUR OWN RISK

Arguably THE kill of the movie involves the killer using 2 hooks on a chain on a young woman doing yoga. He stabs her through the stomach from behind with one hook, then stabs her through the head with the other. He then pulls on the chain until her head bends forward so hard her neck snaps and it beheads her through her stomach.

The other kill (for me, the harder one to watch because it's basically in one shot) - involves the killer breaking a man's back, but keeps him alive. He then drags his body to a mechanized log splitter and cuts his arm off while the man is clearly alive and blinking but cannot move. The killer puts his neck on the splitter and it slowly cuts his head in half.

I still want to watch it, but looks like The Watchers is a skip for me in theaters. What a bummer. But it looks like Ishana’s directing is the best part, so I’m looking forward to her future regardless

  13. Wait what? I'm watching that instead. Are ppl saying it's bad?

Seeing The Watchers in a couple hours. Liked the book enough so hopefully the movie is decent

  15. For what it's worth, those descriptions of the kills in In a Violent Nature are more disturbing to read than watch lol. That first kill is goofy as hell (in a good way). The second one is pretty disturbing though. None of it is like torture porn, but describing it, I get that it sounds like Saw or something

I just want an accurate count on how many times he stabs the dude at the end before Kris escapes to the road

I did Bad Boys tonight due to a timing issue where I couldn't make The Watchers. I should be able to see that tomorrow. I'm ride or die with Shyamalan and I'm excited to see what Ishana does post-Servant.
