1 is must see, skip 2 imo come back to it later if you get really bored or curious but it’s worthless, season 3 is decent. There’s a reference to season 1 in season 3 but no real apparent connection. Looks like this one has a connection to 1 at least.
Edit: I see many people have answered this. I really need to catch up on threads before I reply.

  10. Had no idea Kevin Bacon and Halsey were in the cast. So pumped. Should probably watch New York Ripper this weekend.

  11. Finished The Pyramid last night. Bad, bad stuff, which is a bummer. Imagine fumbling a found footage haunted house movie set in a pyramid! So much potential!

Did you ever watch The Ruins? It's pretty cool.

  18. I'm not particularly interested in The First Omen, but that reverse trailer is cool as hell

Awful, but it's getting people talking and I guess that's what they wanted.

Reviving classic supernatural horror must be the thing now. First Exorcist, then The Omen, and then we are getting a new Rosemary's Baby prequel from Paramount starring Julia Garner that was filmed in secret under a codename in 2022, that should be coming out this year.

If The First Omen and this Rosemary’s Baby prequel that I’m just learning about spawn direct sequels, I’m coining the term “preboot” now for prequels that reboot the franchise. You heard it here first. (I fully admit this term has probably already been used somewhere because nobody on this planet is original)

Rise of the Planet of the Apes would also be a preboot for example.

"soft reboot" is the umbrella term. A soft reboot can be in the form of a sequel or a prequel.

Oh I know, I was just making a play on the term “requel” for reboot sequels. Prequels needed their own specific term.
