Rewatched Emily Rose, and while it didn't scare me nearly as much as the other two times I've seen it, there's still a lot of good stuff there. Definitely doesn't deserve the 45% that RT gives it, idk what the hell that's all about.

Even LegalEagle on youtube has some good things to say about the courtroom scenes. Said the opening prosecution might be the most realistic thing he's seen in a movie.

Jennifer Carpenter deserves an award for that movie

100%. The visual effects are so laughably bad.

    Fun movie though

I had to look at my letterboxd to remember what I thought of that movie. As a I said a few years ago, Emily Rose’s biggest sin is being boring.

Re: McKamey Manor, I’m pretty sure everything most of the internet has ever said about that place is a lie, or at least has been for several years now in the location where it stands today. It doesn’t even exist now (maybe never did) like they want people to believe it does. Russ says things like he has hundreds of live rats, a zip line, etc but refuses to show a single shred of evidence of any of it when challenged on it. Watch Reckless Ben (I think that’s his name) videos exposing it pretty recently on YouTube. It’s pretty clearly all a bunch of horseshit

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

couldn't disagree more, that's one of my favourite depictions of hell in cinema. just the claustrophobia and wrongness of it

  9. Haven’t watched No One Will Save You yet but damn unless your creatures are Godzilla sized, filmmakers should keep trying to use practical effects whenever possible

I agree with most of the sentiments regarding No One Will Save You. They also showed them way way too much, and it became almost comical. I also didn't really care for the ending - why do these beings have a soft spot for something so random as unintentional childhood violence and trauma? Did everyone they abduct get that same memory scan? Is living in a world where everyone around you is being hypnotized and pretending to like you really better than being authentically ostracized?.All that being said, I still really liked it haha.

Watching Reckless Ben's McKamey Manor vids. I've never seen him before but he's pretty funny and I'm excited to see where this goes

did make me want to rewatch The McPherson Tape though, which I would highly recommend to anyone who likes found footage. it's one of the very first.

we've seen the shadow of the axe before Supporter

Went in blind to watch Talk To Me last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's very rare these days I'm able to watch a movie without knowing anything about it but somehow I managed to miss all the marketing for this movie.

Honestly it’d be scarier if it was nothing down there, that’s why caves are scary

I’ve said it before, but proving an afterlife exists makes movies less scary even if it’s hell!

Any good recommendations for horror films that take place during the Salem witch trials or colonial America in general?

The VVitch but it was pretty boring until the last ten minutes

  20. My first thought was the third Fear Street but the second half of that kinda requires that you've also watched the other two

It was just a buncha poor colonialists bickering for an hour and a half and then some real crazy shit goes down at the end

oh man, i feel like The VVitch was great with all the tension/fear/anxiety-building, the dialogue was well researched and general atmopshere. There's certainly no action until the last act, but it did what it was meant to
