And ironically it was written by an openly gay man.

This is wild. We both watched 2005 Wes Craven movies tonight. No slurs over here though

so the same character dropped another f slur and was basically homophobic the entire time he was on screen

but turns out he was closeted and he comes out to the guy he was bullying later and apologizes

then Jesse Eisenberg says "yay go gay" so all's well that ends well

Kicked off Gore-Us last night with the first category a movie starring an actress born in 1993. I wanted to do Sweetheart, but it was no longer streaming. I wanted to stick with a film I haven't seen yet so I kind of chose an actress at random and it ended up being Lili Simmons. The film I watched was Sound of Violence. Jasmin Savoy Brown stars in it, but Lili has a major role. Thought it was pretty fine. It gets unintentionally (assuming) silly at times, but it was a pretty unique slasher for what it was. 3/5

Not sure if I'll keep going in the same order the categories are listed or if I'll mix some of it around going forward. Depends on what I feel like watching I guess lol

I wish I had the kind of energy required to make a list and actually follow through on watching everything. Gore-Us sounds so fun. I’m excited to hear about everything you all are watching though!

That takes place on Halloween - Hubie Halloween
One featured in the book “Bleeding Skull! A 1990s Trash Horror Odyssey” - The Slumber Party Massacre
A body horror movie from the 80s - Scanners
One featuring an inanimate object as the antagonist - Amityville 4: The Evil Escapes
A George A. Romero movie you’ve never seen (or seen the least) - The Crazies
One featuring a Hip Hop artist - Leprechaun in the Hood
One featured on MST3K - Manos: The Hands of Fate
An HP Lovecraft adaptation not starring Jeffrey Combs and Barbara Crampton - Color out of Space (2019)
A horror film written by Kevin Williamson that isn’t Scream - I Know What You Did Last Summer
An animated horror film - Perfect Blue
    A remake - Black Christmas (2006)

Despite being pretty stupid and bad, I actually enjoyed "Cursed"

The cast was crazy and half of them turned into werewolves running around on the ceiling.

Christina Ricci, Jesse Eisenberg, Joshua Jackson, Milo Ventimiglia, Portia de Rossi, Shannon Elizabeth, Nick Offerman, Scott Baio, Craig Kilborn, Lance Bass, Mya, and Bowling For Soup

I'd almost put it in the movies that didn't happen thread

watched the last two Saw films for the first time today and loved both of them. I'm not sure whether it's just because it's been so long since I last saw one of these but I had a ton of fun. Looking forward to the new one now which I only just found out about lol.

Spiral is still the only Saw movie I haven’t watched. Should I change that?

Spiral felt more like a Saw movie than the 2 before it imo. But also it has Chris Rock doing stand up monologues and the Jigsaw voice sounds very silly, so YMMV.

  15. Stand-up monologues? Lol

I think the voice in that one is creepier than the normal voice tbh, all respect to Tobin

  20. Halloweentown was solid, lots of fun costumes and set pieces, I just wish I had nostalgia for the DCOM stuff but since I didn't grow up with it, it kinda just feels like above-average kids' fare to me. And that's okay!

Currently doing Creepshow (total comfort movie for me), but not counting it towards my list since I've seen it so many times. Gonna try to squeeze in Leprechaun in the Hood before bed!
