  6. A new NOES should go to like, Radio Silence or Gerard Johnstone. Someone that can take silly material and create genuinely bizarre/unsettling imagery out of it. Not Flanagan lmao

Maybe Brandon Cronenberg even... that'd be interesting.

  8. Thought about that for a minute. Infinity Pool was funnier than expected, even if the sense of humor is WAY different than NOES lol

Radio Silence and Nia DaCosta were the first to come to mind for me.

  10. That would be a wild Redbox/Hulu original horror movie... haha

    Christ: Resurrection
Directed by David and Brandon Cronenberg

"Jesus comes back and everyone rejoices and gathers to watch him address the world for the very first time. But as he speaks, things quickly turn when it becomes obvious that he's actually a zombie with a plan to brutally destroy everyone on earth who has ever sinned, which turns out to be every single one of us."

65 coming out the same week as Scream is so fucked up, who made and kept that decision? Hopefully I’ll get to catch both, but still.

  13. 65 is also not getting great reviews, so that's going to only make it worse in the long run, probably.

ehh I think Flanagan has plenty of unsettling, disqueting etc visual tricks in his repertoire. he hasn't used them as much recently but that doesn't mean they're not there

as much as I admire Radio Silence I wouldn't want them anywhere near a NOES reboot lol. they're excellent at high-octane, tense movies about people getting stabbed a lot, but I haven't seen anything from them yet that suggests they could pull off the surreal dream sequence stuff

y'know what give it to that couple who made Deadstream and the only good segment of that last VHS. they'd fucking kill it

    Oh bummer, didn’t realize that.

  16. But that’s only if people on Letterboxd can be taken seriously, which is 50/50.

I would take a James Wan NOES. I think he has the creative flare and would be respectful of what’s come before. I enjoy the imagery and aesthetic of most of his movies and think it could fit.

I'd like to think that David Robert Mitchell could've done a unique (albeit more serious) take on NOES. It Follows always kind of gave me slight NOES vibes with it's dream-like atmosphere and also with how the group of kids try to figure out how to defeat it

Just pls keep DGG away from it. I still haven’t recovered from Kills/Ends.

Oh man I don’t know how I feel about this. I love Wan, but his creative fingerprint is so identifiable that it would be jarring to see it plastered all over an established franchise.
