Did a double feature of Smile and Skinamarink last night.

As others have said, Smile was a lot better than it looked from the trailer. There were a couple of creepy and memorable visuals.

Skinamarink was perfect for what it was. I watched it at like 11pm, slightly tired, in my place alone. If you're into it, the movie kind of lulls you into its nightmarish trance. That said, completely understand people saying did nothing for them. Don't think I could recommend it to any of my friends ha.

 

I was supposed pissed when "THE END" popped up

I can appreciate a creepy atmosphere focused horror movie, but it should lead to something. Nothing happened! A bunch of creepy visuals and then the movie ends. I was pissed and I'm still pissed.

This critique is gonna drive me nuts lol a lot of very memorable, fucked up, and scary things happened. It's just so much more than a creepy atmosphere movie imo. But different stroked for different folks

 

Wednesday is fun. It’s like a weird cross section of Harry Potter and Sabrina so far to me.

Gotta stick the landing imo, if it falls flat it really wastes all that built up tension for me

 

Bones and All was real fucked up and really good.

 

Santa Claws is certainly a relic and seeing so many people from NOTLD is super cool. Wish i liked it more though. Ultra campy and fun in some parts, but a bore in others. Really weird flick from a co-writer with Romero in 68 made in 1996 haha

 

Yep - probably not horror, but seems horror adjacent. Psychological thriller, maybe? I don't know anything about it, but I like Villeneuve a lot. Starting now.

The ending is the best part!

Yeah based on the reviews I've seen it seems like something that either really works for you or doesn't at all. I guess it just didn't connect for me sadly.

Same. Got about 30 minutes through but really enjoyed what I watched. Was actually hilarious and the plot was cool. Gave me an It Follows / Small Soldiers vibe.

 

I should give Enemy another shot sometime. Saw it like ten years ago in a theater and didn’t really care for it, but I’d to think my taste has expanded since then haha. A lot of “weird” stuff didn’t really land for me back then

 

I don't think I can do Enemy again. Me and spiders don't get along

 

Enemy was mostly good and unsettling even if some of it didn't work for me (and I don't mean the Lynchian ending)

Christmas Bloody Christmas was kind of annoying at first (we get it, you can say fuck), but definitely good times when it picked up — loved the score and lighting and influences on its sleeve.
