Just watched Watcher and Resurrection, both woman-focused anxiety movies on Shudder. Watcher probably a more enjoyable straightforward film, but some of the most unsettling manipulation I've ever seen in any movie for Resurrection, what a fucked up villain.

 

Yeah Resurrection was rough.

Rebecca Hall was amazing though. Her monologue to the intern was right up there with Mia Goth’s in Pearl.

 

“Rough” meaning hard to watch or not good? I’ve been wanting to check it out.

 

Hard to watch. Like @incognitojones said, it’s very unsettling.

 

Haven't heard of that one, but I love Rebecca Hall. Would y'all recommend it?

I redid We're All Going to the World's Fair this morning. I think I was wrong about it. I also redid Halloween Ends last night, which I don't think I was wrong about (lol), but I do think I get it a little more now.

 

It was creepy. The whole concept was creepy and weird. Mileage may vary. I don't know if I liked it exactly but I'm not mad I watched it.

Skinamarink did absolutely nothing for me. Am I broken?

Anyways, had to go easy on Vengar Syndrome's Black Friday sale this year, so just Homegrown Horrors Vol. 2. But the Terror Vision Subscription also gives us access to products at discounted rates, so I grabbed Things and Two Thousand Maniacs OSTs on vinyl!

 

I'm finally watching Cabinet of Curiousities. first one was solid but the ending didn't quite live up to the build. rats one was really bad, The Autopsy was fantastic and maybe some of my favourite horror this year

halfway through The Outside and I legitimately can't tell if this is meant to be funny or not. Dan Stevens accent is ridiculous

 

lmao the Martin Starr death scene is like an SNL skit, this episode is wild

 

With 20 minutes left I said it was gonna be as good as it’s ending, so I would say it’s a good movie. But wow did I hate that guy more than anyone I’ve ever seen in a movie, horror or otherwise.

 

The Autopsy played out like a Stephen King adaptation in the best way but by the end it was clear it was more than that. Hands down my favorite out of all the episodes.

 

I was wrong about We're All Going to the World's Fair. It takes a lot of patience, but if you're in the right headspace, it's really unsettling and visually unique. Alex G crushed the music.

Nitram was also disturbing, but quite good.

absolutely. there's a lot of King DNA in the first 3 episodes but The Autopsy really nailed his fucked up but very human way of writing and insane twists. absolutely fantastic performances from F Murray Abraham, Glynn Turman and the guy playing Allen too

feel like David Prior is a director to watch, one hell of an interesting vision from him
