How brutal is Terrifier 2? I kinda wanna see it, but I’m not a huge gore guy unless it is played for laughs

 

I literally just opened this thread to say the following:

As someone who did not like what I saw of the first Terrifier, I was morbidly curious and just threw on the sequel. So far, I am surprisingly liking the vibe (the laundromat scene with clown girl was delightfully twisted), but reports of people throwing up was almost certainly not just a marketing ploy - the first few minutes literally made me queasy in a way I haven’t felt in a very long time.

 

it's very brutal and if you are not huge into gore... godspeed but i don't recommend it

 

it is simultaneously very over the top, which was weirdly kind of a tonic for the brutality for me. bedroom scene kept flickering between extremely upsetting and ridiculous

 

I am definitely not loving this, but I am having a surprising amount of fun in spite of how sadistic it is. That said, I am worried the bedroom scene I’ve been hearing about is where I’ll probably have to bail, but we’ll see!

 

I love Terrifier 2, but it’s “cheapness” removes me from the brutality of it all. Imo, it just feels like a funhouse at a carnival rather than a true haunted house. Not sure if these analogies make sense to anyone other than myself.
