Yeah it was fun in theatres, I think it would play well with a big crowd on Saturday

Was watching Final Destination 3 (might be my favorite so far) and paused it for a little bit. I just went back to finish and it was taken off HBO. So whack.

So Halloween (2018) isn't on a streaming service, Kills is on HBO, and Ends is on Peacock? What the heck.

  6. Damnnnn
Kills premiered on Peacock as well, will likely go to HBO after some time

Just realized it's September 1st, which means I'm ready to go full steam on horror stuff. I think I've got a lot to catch up on - fell out of the loop for awhile with newer movies and it looks like I missed a lot of gems. (finding myself scrolling through horror TikTok has me noticing just how many movies that look very up my alley have come out...)

Side note: anyone here watched "Spookies" from 1986? Watched it with my wife and a friend a few weeks ago and it was godawful in that special kind of "laughing so hard it hurts" way. There's an entire segment of goo monsters farting and it's impeccable.

Anyone wanna throw some ideas for movies my way for the following categories? Some are a bit more obscure and I want to enlist some help.

2 Animated Films (I am thinking Frankenweenie and/or Monster House and/or Corpse Bride, but my knowledge of spooky animated movies is quite limited tbh)
The Worst Horror Sequel from the 90's That Can Be Accessed
    1 German Silent Film
1 Stephen King Adaptation that is not the first go-round
5 Films from David Cronenberg, Ti West, Bill Rebane, Charles B. Pierce, William Grefe and/or Joy N. Houck Jr. (I only know the first 3 directors)

I'd love to help you but I can't imagine there's a movie I know about that you don't

  13. Jason Goes to Hell is on HBO Max. And as for Cronenberg picks - The Brood and Videodrome are my top two (that are horror, anyways). And then House of the Devil for Ti West, but that seems obvious. Could do X if you wanted something more recent.

I am assuming you are pushing Jason Goes to Hell into the worst 90's sequel category haha. Yeah that is a good pick! I am gonna dig around for something I haven't seen first but will probably come back to it. Can't not do HOtD for West but will probably watch X again in anticipation of Pearl (still baffled by this crazy turnaround). Videodrome is at the top of the list for Cronenberg might do The Fly as well considering there is also an insect horror category this year.

Haven’t watched them yet but two animated movies on my list are:
    - Perfect Blue (coming to Shudder 9/6)
    - The Wolf House (on Shudder)

Charles B Pierce did the original The Town That Dreaded Sundown which is pretty good. He also did The Legend of Boggy Creek which is like the OG mockumentary, it's a little boring but kinda cool.

For the German silent film, go with The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. It's a masterpiece and has incredible hand painted set pieces.

  24. For animated, ParaNorman is great and underrated. One of my personal favs.

If you want to go more adult, I'll second the rec for Perfect Blue. It's a classic.
