Very excited to watch (or at least start) Woodlands Dark & Days Bewitched tonight! So glad that hit Shudder because I couldn't afford the box set

 

Wow, looks like they added a Folk Horror collection, too! That's going to keep me occupied for a while.

Sorry for raising excitement! It is on Shudder in the UK. I checked JustWatch (Dawn of the Dead streaming: where to watch online?) and it looks like it isn't on there though for US & Canada.

Thanks to everyone for the Shudder recommendations. I'll check as many of them out as I can before the trial runs out!

I'm still on the [Insert Word] of the Dead movies kick at the moment so moving on to Day of the Dead (1985) now. It annoyingly isn't on Shudder in the UK, but is on Shudder in US & Canada if you wanted your Romero zombie fix!

They tried to in the past iirc but it was just too much of a hassle.

 

The Red Scare Jeffrey Epstein horror movie looks terrible lmao who would've thought. They mention "getting too close to the truth" twice in the trailer and, intentional or otherwise, copping that line from Eyes Wide Shut at the end made me roll my eyes hard

Scream was really really good. Some minor issues with some stuff but overall I think they nailed it.

 

Did Prevenge based on Woodlands Dark and Days Bewitched and thought it was just okay. The documentary is amazing though, bordlerine perfect if they could have cut even 20 minutes. It's incredibly comprehensive. I recommend splitting it into two parts.

 

As someone who saw a screening without really knowing anything about red scare or anything, I did really like the movie. Its not taking itself very seriously and very campy. It is not very clear if it's making fun of you for not believing in a conspiracy or making fun of you if you do. I found it refreshing to see a movie that went to these places rather than shy away from them. Plus it has a genuine retro feel that clashes with the modern stuff in a very interesting way.

Idk I think people should check it out, it's certainly unique!

 

I liked Scream but didn't love it. It's probably gonna stay in the bottom two of the series for me, but that's really a testament to how strong the series is as whole

 

Absolutely loved Scream. If you’re a fan of the series then I don’t see how you wouldn’t enjoy it.

PSA: The Scream Franchise thread has a ton of spoilers that I feel some should have covered up. If you want to go in knowing nothing, I would advise you avoid that thread.

Yeah, staying away from the Scream thread until I can see it, presumably virtually. Thankful to have this thread for general thoughts and reactions though!
