Anyone wanna help a horror freak out? I, for the life of me, cannot find Video Violence (1 or 2) anywhere. Apparently used to be on Youtube, but it got taken down. Not on any of my usual torrent sites, either. Nor is it on Rarelust. Anyone with some time to spare and some internet trackdown skills willing to seek em out for me? Maybe I'm just missing it

    EDIT:
Wait, no fuckin way! They both just got added to Rarelust yesterday!

I've also been trying to find out the name of a two horror movies.

I've been trying to find them for like 2 decades and can't find anything because all I remember are small scenes from them. I watched them on a late night horror channel as a kid.

First one was an older movie and all I remember was an old mansion/house and there was like a creepy pale old man at the head of the dinner table with all these other creepy people/monster-like characters (Not texas chainsaw massacre). Outside was a young boy that was either a vampire or werewolf looking in. It was like a horror house or something.

The second movie, I thought it was Fun House and was wrong, but there was a scene with a dude wandering around a house eating a Mr. Goodbar then he gets guillotined.

  4. I was going to say, I ordered the Basement VHS big box from Alternative Cinema/Camp Motion Pictures that came with physical DVD copies, but the only place I think I've seen them online (until now anyways) is Youtube. Love those movies. Copped a shirt and the soundtrack on vinyl recently, lol.

The first one sounds like Spookies but idk if that would ever be on TV when you were a kid

I'm so happy to have Shudder in my life. When I was a kid I'd run through Bravo's 100 Greatest Horror Moments and whatever Horror compilation DVD there was at Blockbuster. Shudder seems to be the new home for docs like that

Although, fuck the Shudder app. I'm back on Amazon Prime

Ah! I had no idea Shudder was so cheap and that you could get it as a Prime channel add on! Just started my subscription.

Prime is all I know since there isn't a playstation app for some reason.

Found the better deal to be the AMC+ package for a few dollars more.

I feel like I've been lucky finding cool horror docs for free on Tubi and Crackle.

Started up Superhost as soon as I got Shudder since it was the first thing that popped up.

original and entertaining but some super dumb character decisions and after awhile it’s hard to cheer for the main characters.

    awesome viillain though!

Fair warning: by the 45-50 minute mark you’re gonna need your remote close by for the fucking HUGE sound jumps. For looking like a pretty slick film with a budget the sound quality jumps are total shit in act 3.

This was one of the most upsetting things to learn after I got a PS5 and set it up on a new tv.

I really liked Superhost. The male lead and the villain were both great

Holy shit I’m 2/2 with Shudder and both movies were ones I’ve never heard of before seeing them come up on the app.

finished Head Count and it was AMAZING. Loved basically everything about it. Like a damn love letter to Coherence which is also amazing. Definite recommendation!

    Doing Re-Animator…for the first time

  21. Your glowing review of Head Count got me excited so I went to add it to my watch list on Letterboxd only to discover that I have already seen it hahaha. I “hearted” it so I must have liked it enough but I really don’t remember it.

haha I’ve had a few of those experiences before. As much as I love the film I could definitely see it being something that doesn’t stick with people for very long. There are no major classic scenes that would stick with someone (I don’t think at least) but it just does everything that is definitely my shit so I had a blast. It doesn’t even appear to have a Wikipedia page so I’m grateful I started Shudder and had it as one of the first things that popped up!

You guys may have to thread ban me as I may vomit post after post of films you all have seen for years as I experience them for the first time

    Better Watch Out

what the fuck! This got me soooo good. Totally had me. At like 20 minutes or something I wondered, “how does this become a 90 minute move” and then we entered wild swerve city and then it was just amazing. And then when I thought it was done and I was a biiiiiit soured it then again came through as I should have expected. Everything was so well done and meta when it needed to be from referencing Home Alone to the breaking voice for Luke throughout. All the jokes landed for me with some legit LOL’s. Jeremy steals the show with super limited screen time to boot. Really great stuff. Cannot wait to show this to literally every person I know and watch it with them.

Even better that I can watch this again around Christmas time since it’s the rare Christmas horror flick.

good god 3/3 today I am blown away. Like any genre, sometimes you go through dry spells (or shit spells) and sometimes you strike gold that makes you remember why you love a genre or film in general. Today has been that day or remembering and enjoying. Hopefully it continues.
