About halfway through Messiah of Evil right now. A bit drawn out in parts but so far, I'm loving it. Very atmospheric and the opening scene was badass.

  2. The first time I saw Resolution, I liked it but thought it had a few small issues. The second time I watched it, man. I love that movie.

Re: It Follows. That intro remains so incredibly effective… it still makes me feel uneasy.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

one of my all-time favourites, just such a phenomenal and raw movie in every respect

Watched most of Escape Room last night. I can dig PG-13 SAW. Looking forward to finishing and watching the sequel tonight.

It is dumb fun, but I thought it was extremely well done. Excited to see the sequel.

The last ten minutes of Escape Room and all of Tournament of Champions sucked. Bummer.

The last ten minutes is sequel bait. Second movie starts with the end of the first. Nothing about the beginning comes into play until the last fifteen minutes or so. The whole thing plays on the same notes as the first. The "bad guy" doesn't really make any sense. The twist is really dumb. It was just really frustrating, overall. The sequel bait at the end of this one wasn't enticing at all.

Booo. I’ll still check it out, but I’ll lower the expectations a bit.

It really depends on how bad the COVID numbers are in the fall if I go to the theater or not. I’m glad there’s an option for home viewing.

Definitely same here. Haven't been to a theater yet and not sure how I'll feel about it then, so really glad there's an option.

  18. Yeah, I'd like to see this in theaters if at all possible, but my current vehicle situation is difficult, so I'm glad there's an option.

In a good way? I'm seeing it tonight and excited but cautiously optimistic because I haven't heard a peep about it.

Yeah. I had mixed feelings about it for the first 30-40 minutes, but I warmed up to it. One particular scene later on had me like YESSSSS haha

Will be watching Malignant tonight. Definitely interested to see how it turns out. Wasn’t huge on the trailer but I dig Wan.

How was it? For some reason it's the one movie they've covered so far that I'm least enthusiastic about watching.

  25. I was pleasantly surprised! It's nothing mind-blowing, but I'd say it's memorable and the whale footage is frankly unbelievable (in a good way).
