I just finished this show tonight. It’s sincerely one of the best “sitcoms” I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen my share. It’s so funny, but it’s more than that too. It reminds me of (my actual favorite show ever) LOST in that the journey of the characters and what they mean to each other and us is the essence of the show. And I really got attached to these characters. I didn’t get the ending scene right away but it clicked later when i saw that it was actually Eleanor becoming that good conscience “Voice in your head” which is just so nice.

But I have to say, what really broke me (my dot in the i) is when Janet saw Chidi off and Jason popped up behind a tree and told her he decided to wait for her. That he had spent the time looking for the pendant he made her then serenely waited out the time for her return and when she pointed out how he was just like Jianyu he was just blissfully oblivious to the connection and ran off after Chidi. That’s when I broke down ugly crying. I guess Chidi’s talk about waves and Eleanor giving Buddhism props combined with this scene all just felt emotionally personal in what feels most spiritually true to me.

 

Got caught up through the penultimate episode, just have the finale left. Really felt like that could've been the finale

Don't get me wrong, I liked the finale but I don't feel like it needed to be that grand. Would've been cool just to end it with that moment from Eleanor and Chidi and leave it at that

 

Finally got around to watching the last four episodes of this tonight. Forgot how great this show is. Really good finale.

 

Perfect finale. Love these characters and this show.
