Just got caught up with the first season and the premier. I’m sure I’m late and this has been postulated before, but based on the premier it occurs to me that Michael is a human as well. He’s just had his memories erased and new ones of him as a demon fabricated. His hell is trying to make a perfect bad place for these humans who continually figure out his plans.

 

This might be the true for all of the side characters as well

 

What if all the side characters are being tortured by their inability to properly torture the 4 main characters, who are the actual employees of the bad place

 

What if all of us are actually dead and this is the afterlife and we all get to watch The Good Place as our reward for being good people?

One hole in that theory though is I'm a piece of shit so that doesn't really work.

This is moving so fast, I love it!

 

Probably the most I've laughed in an episode so far. I love the direction this episode took.

I haven't watched the S2 premiere because I've been trying to make time for a full rewatch of S1, but do you guys think it's worth it or can I just jump into this season? How specific have references to past episodes been so far

 

It's definitely not needed but I did a rewatch right beforehand and I'm glad I did. This last episode they definitely called back more to S1. Rewatching shouldn't take too long depending on your amount of free time so it definitely couldn't hurt.

 

I think you'll be okay. I watched S1 as it aired and haven't revisited it at all since and I don't feel like I'm missing anything.

 

That Stone Cold Steve Austin joke killed me. The delivery was incredible.

This might have been the single funniest episode of anything I've ever seen. I started crying laughing at "Busty Alexa" and basically didn't stop the entire episode!

The La La Land bit was incredible. The band being called The Jazzsplainers killed me.

 

Binged and caught up and I love this show. It's really great how they used the first season to introduce the concepts and are now able to play with them a lot.

 

To me, it feels like the reveal will be that the four main characters are the actors and Micheal and the rest of the bunch are the people in the bad place.
