I never twigged that was possible but it seems a great opportunity now. Bruce, Sam Fender and TGA would be a great triple at the top of that BST bill.

I get that it's special when it's live, but man I wish they recorded the Have Mercy w/ Chelsea Hotel ending for the record. Same with Ladykiller with the Cure ending.

It is, so what tends to happen is I put on Elsie, enjoy it, get to Ladykiller, and then switch to the live one.

if I ever saw them play the third biloxi verse live... (or even ever saw that they played the third biloxi verse live...)

legitimately one of my favorite pieces of song writing and like the only way to find it is a couple of random obscure youtube videos.

did he ever go on record for why they changed it? Cause its not like the bridge is bad... its just also not "I won't say nothing cause that's how I know your heart"

I like that third verse a lot and I’m glad they killed it. The solo into the bridge works so much better.

I can’t believe I get to see this band again in less than a week. I thought they were done and it’s still a shock to me that this reunion is happening. The set lists were all over the place for the European tour, it’s nice to go into this show not knowing what they will pull out at any given moment.

If anybody in the seattle area wants to see them next week I have two tickets I'm looking to sell what I paid for them (~$60)

Man what a show. One of the best sets I’ve ever seen. They played for almost 2 hours and the band absolutely killed it. Everyone was in such a great mood and Brian’s stage banter is a ton of fun. Setlist was nearly perfect and filled with quite a few surprises. This is the first time I’ve seen them bring a pianist on tour and it really enhanced a lot of songs. Can’t wait for them to record new music next year.

Seattle show was fun but the setlist was definitely a bit disappointing

only played like three songs off T59S one off SOS :-/

Did get to see them play She Loves You cause someone brought a sign which was nice. But sounds like they swapped a bunch of stuff off T59S they played in Portland for a bunch of stuff off Get Hurt.

Plus the energy in the crowd was kinda lowkey all night. Only got the tinyest of pits going towards the end with they played Great Expectations / 45 / 59 Sound. Gotta wonder if they had opened with Howl (which they didn't even play X-() instead of Get Hurt if that would've set a very different mood for the night. But also like, as a whole except until the end they didn't really play a lot of their high energy songs. So I guess maybe they were just going for a different vibe which kinda threw me off even when they did pull out a banger (like they did play stuff like Spirit of Jazz and Blue Dahlia but all the Get Hurt stuff mixed with a lot of either quite or slow stuff... had a hard time getting lost in the music. which is probably more my fault than anything but I imagine a different setlist would've helped). *shrug*

Still had fun. Still great to see them again. But man that Portland setlist looks like it was way better :crylaugh:

That Seattle setlist was definitely a little odd, don’t really like that as the opener at all haha, the other choices they’ve been using are severely better.

I’m so sad that they aren’t opening with Have Mercy anymore

Even though the Portland setlist was better the energy was definitely weird at times. Nobody moved at all for SOS tracks which sucks. It was an odd crowd though. A lot of couples where you could tell only one of the people actually liked the band and a lot of casual fans who only know the hits. Also a lot of seniors. Regardless I’m happy to have the band back and they Sold Out a venue that’s twice the size of where they played here last in 2015. I still lost my shit and had a great time haha

I love that song, but it would have been incredibly anti climatic given how excited the crowd was.

man opening with either Mae or Have Mercy is the only way they should ever open shows
