Great, now in addition to compulsively checking the Riot Fest twitter account today I need to also be keeping an eye on my e-mail in the event that I get a Spotify thing RE: the Gaslight Anthem. I will be the happiest person ever if they wind up doing a The '59 Sound show in Boston...

It also looks like Side One Dummy is releasing a new b-sides comilation: The '59 Sounds Sessions. It features "rare, unreleased, and alternate takes" recorded during The '59 Sound album recording.

in dc? i mean, there's all the museums obviously, i love the natural history museum, i've been there a ton and it's still my favorite. plenty of other things too

if you are into beer i can give you some suggestions as well. or anything else you're looking for. u street is a nice spot with a bunch of different venues as well.

 

i do all of my listening through Spotify and this is my favorite band. if i don't get this email i'm a failure

 

looks like Gaslight might be doing a radio performance on 5/31, but it says it's at Bowery Ballroom. maybe it's for tickets to that?

Possibly. Although, that seems to be a radio station-sponsored event based on that post. Maybe Spotify has some select "spots" for that show... Or maybe it's a different show entirely.

Bowery's a big venue. It may be a pre-sale, given that the tweet says "Spotify Fans First" and this radio station giveaway has already started, hah.

 

idk to be honest. the contest is, as of writing, the only way to get tickets, and it's for one winner/two tickets total. either they're literally allowing only 2 people in or there's gotta be another means. we'll see! def gonna try to be there, have the following Friday off of work

Yeah I got the email, I actually may not have gotten it because I put it in my cart and didn't check out for a few hours but it did let me check out while it said it was sold out so I'm not sure haha

 

I am still on the fence for the deluxe, even if the booklet looks cool. I am getting the impression its just these 9 songs, not like you would be getting a reissue of the original album as well. Am I wrong?

 

Sad news: Looks like I'm not gonna be able to make it out to DC now - anyone need two tickets to the show on 5/27? Would just want to get back what I paid for them. They're will call, so I'm not positive how that works, I can email Ticketfly and see! I'd hate for them to go to waste when I know there's people who weren't able to grab them when they went on sale.

Super bummed, but I'll be seeing them in Chicago later this Summer so I'll still have that to look forward to.

Makes me feel like we're definitely getting at least a few more tour dates post-Governor's Ball. Probably on the east coast (and at least one west coast; I'd imagine they would hit LA).

 

Oooo. If I can see this then maybe I won't have to buy Gov Ball tickets after all.

 

this is a bummer, tbh. it's two days before the thing i paid $150 for solely to see them? i'm not made of expendable income and that was not an easy weekend to swing and plan. now all my friends that didn't wanna do Gov Ball are gonna see them before me and without me for a quarter of the price. feel a little screwed

 

you should never buy tickets to a major festival solely to see a downlineup artist

 

even you have to admit it's weird af to put a show on BEFORE the festival. obviously doing one after was inevitable. i wasn't paying for it thinking it'd be my only chance to see them - i was paying under the impression it would be my first chance.
