It’s cold in Sacramento. Watching these with my coffee and snuggling my pup has made for a fantastic little morning.


Edit: immediately after posting this, my wife set off the fire alarm and my dog went crazy lol

 

Drove from sac to Berkeley last night and listened to this while I drove thru the redwoods. Glad this came out in the fall. Not a summer GA album.

is there a massive “wolves” theme on this thing or am I crazy? Seemed like it was part of half the songs.

This is def my favorite of the shows I’ve been to. 85% confident they played Senior and the Queen because I asked Benny for it haha

 

I’ve seen them so many times now I can’t pick out a specific show that’s my favorite. But going to the Stone Pony summer stage shows was a canonical moment in my life, those posters are still up on my walls.

 

My favorite was probably 2010 when they played at the vic and I also met Brian outside before the show and he was super cool even though I was crazy nervous to talk to him. Honestly riot fest this year might be my other favorite and I’ve seen them/him like 7 or 8 times.

 

I always forget I saw them at the double door two months apart.

also forget how often I caught them in Milwaukee.

 

i love revisiting their 2018 performance at the Governor's Ball Festival. they play all of The 59 Sound and it's raining when they go into "Patient Ferris Wheel" - such a beautiful moment.

 

I was walking around my town this morning (which has a ton of autumn colors right now) and singing it in my head. Perfect timing.

 

I think Handwritten is their Born In The USA (and still remains my favourite record of theirs), but this may be a close second.

The way Brian sings “we’re nobody’s darlings” in Michigan, 1975 is too good.

 

as a Stay Vicious fan that was in attendance for that show, I loved and appreciated such a troll job on the audience.

 

"I Live In The Room Above Her" kinda reminds me of The Antlers at times.

 

Just realised I'm gonna see these guys headline 2000 Trees next year, with all my best friends, on a summer evening, drinking beer and having the best damn time.

And this album makes me even more excited.

 

Whoever said Preludes reminded them of See You On The Other Side (which I adore) was correct
