Absolutely adore this artist; her EP "August" is on Spotify, and it's fantastic

 

This album is quite good.

 

they got namedropped here back when guppy released in April but every day that goes by that you don't listen to charly bliss is a crime against humanity

 

Her new album came out last week and I’m super into it

I enjoyed her last one a little bit, I guess I'll give the new one a try!

 

I have so much catching up to do. Been getting into Daughter and Phoebe Bridgers recently. And also Thao Nguyen, even though I technically discovered her quite a few years ago.

 

Anyone know why we haven't heard any music from Marnie Stern since 2013?

This is good, I’m going to have to keep an eye out for when that album drops. I’d heard their name before but neve checked them out.

Edit: I see they’re on Holy Roar, that makes a lot of sense.

 

Holy Roar might be my favourite label at this point tbh

 

They seem to be putting out a lot of good stuff atm. That new Rola Tomassi album sounds like it’s gonna be a good one too from the track that dropped yesterday.

 

Yeah I really can't wait for that Rolo Tomassi album

 

And also Angel Olsen and Camp Cope.

 

I feel like every artist I've discovered over the past year has had a Tiny Desk concert except Camp Cope.

 

I basically hate all music now but I love Adrianne lenker and liz fraser more than anything else

 

big thief, Cocteau twins, and black/prog metal is all I listen to now p much

 

Super into last year's album from The Preatures, and I'm surprised! I don't remember the first album leaving much of a mark other than the lead single which was GOLD. Well I didn't even know this new one came out, but on my first album I'm totally digging it. Really has some major late 80s early 90s rock-ish vibes, with a modern edge

I tried multiple times to get that to work and it just gets to 100% and does nothing. I don't use my spotify as my primary music listening device though, so it would be pretty skewed as-is

Edit: It worked and apparently I listen to 0% Women

A while ago I realized I was tired of reading/watching/listening to things created by white men, so the result of 29% women was surprisingly low considering for the past year I've mostly been listening to Paramore, Eisley, St. Vincent, Mitski, Japanese Breakfast, Jay Som, Thao Nguyen, Long Beard, Jhene Aiko, FKA twigs, Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, Camp Cope, Daughter, Angel Olsen...
