Ain’t here to be a cop or nothin’, but especially considering we’re in a scene that has a lot of trans/non-binary musicians, I think it’d be kinda wise to rethink how we refer to vocalists rather than simply “male/female.” Because, for example, if you say “female vocalist” and you’re recommended a band with a trans woman vocalist and you’re like “this isn’t what I asked for,” well then that sucks.

New-ish user. Long time lurker. I posted on AP a bit back in the day. I’ve been checking this site almost daily since the beginning and I registered over a year ago but I’m usually too lazy to sign in and post. Haha. I recently figured that I might as well start posting stuff since I’m here constantly anyway.

 

Also, anyone who likes Football, etc. should check out Overo. Lindsay and Mercy from Football, etc. playing early 2000’s influenced screamo. Their album is one of my favorites of the year. Great band, nice people. Backed hard.

It’s wild to me that padfoot is gonna end this year as my most listened to released above all else. That LP/EP/whatever is slays so damn hard

 

I feel I’m growing increasingly jaded with this scene of late and I think this sort of stuff and the seemingly never ending drama/soap opera that surrounds the DIY scene and its inhabitants plays a large role in that.
