I don't know much about him but I'm p sure he co-owns the studio so I'd imagine he's gonna help with production somewhat.

Either way, from the clips I've heard and the pics they've shared I'm getting the feeling this could be a really special record.

 

Didn't know he co-owned it, thought Ace just had his own studio. Nik's old band is.....fine or whatever but TEN are def on another level is all. I'm sure whatever they put out will be sick

 

Yeah, I'm definitely not a Man Overboard fan but it's whatever, I think ultimately Ace will have the most control over the production anyway.

For sure, he seems like he's got a pretty good grasp on where the band wants to be as a whole and I can't imagine needing much input in that way. Based on yr comments I kinda wanna listen to more of the snippets of this that have been posted but I really want this release to wow me with the surprise of it all lol

 

I get that. I feel like by the time I hear the record I'll have forgotten what those clips sounded like anyway haha, it's what happened with Imbue. Especially after hearing everything in context, I think I'll still be surprised.

 

Yeah I never actually remember clips but I don't even want to be like "oh that sounds cool" and build any semblance of expectation. I want a complete blank slate. I was a fan of the band when imbue rolled around but I think at this point I am the most familiar with them I've ever been and that always makes new stuff really exciting for me

 

Every single one of you should go watch Ace's Instagram story today. Holy wow. That little clip is the most exciting so far to me.

It's only like 10 seconds, max. It's enough to get a vibe of where they seek to be going, musically, but not enough to spoil anything at all. Plus, since it's an Instagram story, it's gonna be gone within 24 hours so you can't replay it too much.

And then I saw those tour dates for them playing trtc, remembered I haven't seen them yet and won't be seeing them on that tour, got sad

 

Right? Every clip I've heard so far has got me thinking this could even top Imbue for me. Musically, the clips sound like p much exactly what I'd hope for from them, can't wait to hear how it all comes together.

I'm sad I can't make that tour too. :\ Though I've seen them 7 times or something now (one being a TRTC 10 year show), so I can't complain too much.

 

The atmosphere reminds me of a little bit of all their past albums but still unique. Specifically trtc, tmtmtp and imbue though. If they emphasized the atmosphere more that'd be an interesting direction for them, I think. I'd be happy with almost anything though.

Trying to think if I've seen any band that many times and I think only Foxing and mwy come to mind wow. Didn't know they rolled through NC that often? Thought they just neglected the south east completely

 

They don't roll through NC often at all, haha. I've traveled to see them most of the time. I've only seen them in NC 2 of the 7 times. I also used to live in NY and one of the dates was in Rochester (tour with TWY).

Just found 15 years, and wow. Obviously ''Sunday Drive'' is a classic, but the version on this album is incredible. Gives me chills. Ace's delivery on that song is just flawless. Beautiful but soul crushing in the best possible way. Cannot wait for the new album(s).

Went to the show with Movielife this past Saturday in Berkeley and I have two questions;

Why was Ace the only OG member on stage and when did Ace get so ripped/model-esque? Dude’s arms are like triple size now lol.

 

Most of the band can’t tour full time anymore, but as far as I know they all contribute to writing and will play occasional shows (they all played the US TMTMTP anniversary dates). And I feel like Ace has gotten more and more jacked every year since they came back I think lol.

 

Yeah I feel that. As long as they are still writing with Ace on the new record and occasionally tours- rad.

I went to the TMTMTP reunion tour as well so I was shocked to see no other members. Also, yeah dude- Ace is fucking jacked. It's crazy lol.
