Make A Decision is clearly the weakest on The Mechanic imo.

Five Years actually made the official album release. It was an exclusive add on song when you bought the album at Target. I have the album version of it, it's my favorite song on the album. How that song didn't make the "official" album (like not exclusive / was just included with the album anywhere you bought it) blows my friggin' mind.

Also, I think Long Talks is the weakest on The Mechanic. It's pretty obvious that song should've been on The Mother and A Little More Time, Scared to Lose or Is It My Fault should've taken its place on the traditional / Mechanic LP.

I totally forgot about "Five Years". Another great song.

I'm about to spend way too much money on the For All Of This 10''.

$75. I have been waiting so long to find it cheaper and I couldn't so I just went "fuck it".

Yeah, I got mine for $90, so that's not a terrible price for it. The fact that it's only a 10" with no lyric card though is kind of a bummer / stupid.

Ace sounded phenomenal at Taste of Chaos, I can't believe the extremes he takes his voice to live in songs like Narrow Mouth, I Don't Care or Frayed In Doubt

he's an underrated vocalist for sure. really incredible to me how he can go from a scream or yell or shout into the silky smooth vocals on a dime.

Anthony Green actually came out during I Don't Care and played drums haha, during the big huge I DON'T CARE ABOUT... part, it was super fun

I paid an absolutely idiotic amount ($300) for the boxset with both EPs.

The boxset looks so nice but I haven't seen one of those on sale in quite a while! How many of those were made? 200?

Yeah, I bought it 2 years ago. They made 100 of them.

I had the chance to buy one when they originally went on sale for like $30 or whatever it was, but did't have a credit or debit card at the time. People charging $300 for them now deserve to be shot. I love The Early November, they're the greatest band of all time, but I could never justify paying $300 for something like that. With that being said, I hope anyone who paid that amount deems it worth it and absolutely loves it!

Yeah, scalpers and people who take advantage of fans like that deserve to be thrown into some hole somewhere and forgotten about forever. Same thing happens every time Nintendo puts out something in a limited edition release.

  17. I know this is probably old as fuck news to a lot of people, but damn I just heard about the whole Get Up Kids controversy. Shit is crazy, can't believe they sued TEN over some lyrics.

Funny enough, both bands just played the Taste Of Chaos fest in CA last weekend. Ace says everything is cool between the two bands now but I can't imagine the awkwardness is entirely dissolved.

They also did the Where's the Band tour together back in early 2012, I think that's when they talked it over and came to an understanding. This is just speculation on my part, but what I think happened was this: Manager hears from sources this up and coming band used TGUK lyrics in a song. Manager tells label, label and manager ask band members / specifically Pryor (since he wrote the lyrics) if it's okay to pursue litigation. He obliges probably not thinking much of it, when in reality all he may have had to do was say that it was alright and nothing would've happened. All in all, everything about the story is pretty fucking ridiculous. They specifically made clear that line in the liner notes and booklet that "I don't want you to love me anymore" Baby Blue line was written by TGUK. Yet, they were still sued (I guess because they didn't explicitly ask for permission?) for 10K (if I remember correctly) and are never able to sing the line again (Although the way the crowd does it now is better anyway). Ultimately, I think Ace is probably a pretty forgiving person, but I wouldn't be shocked if some of TEN is still sour about that whole situation / TGUK in general, even if they understand they were kids that probably just shouldn't have done something like that. Getting sued by a person / entity that literally inspired you to play the music you do is probably pretty gut wrenching.

I remember there's a live video where they're about to play Baby Blue and someone's yells "YEAH FUCK THE GET UP KIDS" and it's the first time I've ever seen Ace get visibly angry. He was like "no I still love the band and it's not that big a deal!"

I really hope TEN decides to do another album. I'd love to hear where they take their sound after Imbue.

I'm cautiously optimistic for late fall 2017 or some time in 2018, but I doubt something would be out before then. I loved In Currents all around, and I thought Imbue had some really great moments of brilliance (and was Ace's strongest vocal performance on any record he's ever been a part of). Their current work certainly lives up to what they did pre-hiatus. I think they want to continue doing TEN, so I don't see any reason why they wouldn't record another new album eventually!
