Love that song SO much and ESPECIALLY that part that when the album came out I hardly even cared that nothing else on it really hit me as hard

  6. Haven’t been able to put this album down yet. Was supposed to be at the Middle East tonight & with a photo pass but something came up last minute so I’m pretty bummed, but will definitely be catching them next time around.

    Also this rules

Boston was lit. No complaints. Microwaves is lame but the opener was decent.

Colour and Infinite are by far my favourites but This is Life is really close.

I thought Luna was written for/about his kids

I didn't know it was named after her!

Got my vinyl a couple days ago. It’s beautiful. Especially when you hold it up to a light.

I got it at the show tonight and there's like a fair bit of this weird sandy material in the sleeve/on the record, anyone else have this?

What do you mean sandy material? Like loose grain in it?

    Mine was crisp and clean.

I don't really know how to describe it. It's like someone just sprinkled a little sand in my sleeve, wrapped up the record and sent it on its way

Weird. Does it effect its playability?

think i had that kinda thing with my pressing of Hop Along's Painted Shut. i recall someone mentioned it's a side effect of the vinyl pressing production or something.

It’s because it’s a “haze” variant. I bought one at the show yesterday too but I haven’t opened it yet to see if I’ve got the same problem. I actually didn’t realize it was a haze until after I bought it and read the sticker. It’s a really common thing with that style of record though, and I’m kind of surprised Hopeless still uses it after the issues it caused with the Aaron West records. I would just clean it as best you can, and replace the inner sleeve with a clean one - you’ll never get all the dust out of the sleeve.

Edit: Yeah, mine looks like it’s been sitting on the floor of a woodshop.

yup, same thing with the hop along record. wonder what about a haze pressing causes that.

Same thing with mine. Pretty frustrating.

This comment singlehandedly made me listen to this record.

I don't know why I hadn't given it a shot. This is one of my favorite bands. But I hadn't made the time. I read this comparison and was like, "alright let's fucking go"

What’d you think? Especially of infinite?

I think the album easily has the most interesting lead guitar work of their catalogue. I was blown away by Infinite's ending.

They explore some sounds that I would have never expected from this band. I do think there's a few throwaway tracks, but the highs are outstanding. It all feels very fresh after GR.

Wow. I can't believe I just saw TDS play live again for the first time in ~3 years. Saw them at the Shelter in Detroit, which is a really intimate venue, made even more intimate by the fact that we got a walloping snowstorm that same night so there weren't many people. almost died driving 4 hours across the state (normally takes 2 hours), but it was worth it--also, they talk a lot about dying on this album so maybe it was fitting. Microwave got a new fan, unfortunately missed The Band Camino b/c of weather but I already knew I liked them. Everyone at the show seemed to be really into the new songs. It was definitely a fan show, but they said they'd be back this spring so I'm assuming that's when they'll focus more on the new record. Met Ben and Matt for the first time, super nice guys and I'm stoked that they're in the band. They seem stable and mature now, which is awesome cause that means more albums!

Anyways, still processing the whole show, but I've got my voice back now at least. Wow, just love this band.
