It just feels really gossipy to me.

It’s not gossip if it’s the truth. Sorry, just quoting old FOB...

This is the only time I’ve posted about it. As for other people, I haven’t seen much here. So I dunno. But it’s not really gossip if people are just commenting on what they see on his public accounts. He is broadcasting that to all his fans. It would be gossip if this was all based on stories from fans at shows alone with no real evidence. But making comments based on his posts that he freely makes viewable? Don’t see what’s gossip about it.

I've seen a few people and at one point a while back there were a couple of people discussing it quite heavily. I guess I just think it isn't really needed.

Regardless, let's leave it at that. Agree to disagree i guess.

The Dangerous Summer are my top played artist of 2019 and top played artist of the decade on spotify.

The latter is really crazy considering I just got into these guys like 2 years ago.

I was surprised they didn't make mine, but then I realized it "leaked" really early so a lot of heavy plays for it were not counted for on Spotify.

They were my second most listened to artist of the year, behind Menzingers who are my top band of the decade, so not too shabby. This is also my album of the year.

There were #2 in my top bands of 2019 which I was a bit surprised at because I never really went back and relistened to old albums - was always Mother Nature. The album's awesome though and as surprised as I am to have a TDS album back in my most listened, it's been a well deserved placement.

(FYI - album of the year was Good at Falling - The Japanese House, artist of the year was Spoon)

We reach for the longest shadow

I listened to this pretty heavily when it came out but for some reason or another I never came back to it. Listening for the first time in a while and I can't stop nodding along to it at work. This record really benefits from fantastic pacing/sequencing. Out of context, Bring Me Back to Life and Way Down aren't really great songs, but I LOVE the way Way Down kicks in right after BMBTL, to the point where it elevates both songs for me.

EDIT: Goodness, the title track into Better Life. Looks like I'm shuffling my AOTY list.

I think it has the catchiest hook, but I can understand if the instrumentation isn't for everyone.

Truer words have never been spoken... one of the best moments in their entire catalog.

Still bump this album regularly. Thanks for walking us through the making of it; still one of my favorite things to happen on this site!

My pleasure. Making records is my life. It’s extremely rare when it’s a surreal and magical experience and when that happens I feel and overwhelming need to communicate that with others. The world is a magical and beautiful place.

Saw The Dangerous Summer last night in Adelaide, they were really tight on stage. I met AJ after and he was super friendly. I was sad about the crowd, must have been 60 people at the show tops (not ideal when you've had to fly in). No wonder so many artists skip Adelaide. During the openers AJ was swigging Jim Beam but he seemed really on point performing. Still showed great passion despite the small crowd. I bought some merch just to help them out a little, I hope they didn't lose too much money on the show.

I've seen a few of their personal twitter and instagram photos from their trip to Australia and it looks like they have been having a lot of fun even if they did lose some money lol

Lol glad they are having fun. Probably half of AJ's stage banter was asking who wanted to go out and party with him after the show. I'd have loved to but a) he'd be out of my league I do not want to die haha, b) I'd already been drinking all day, and c) I was staying away from home which meant the chance for a full night's sleep away from the kids.
