We reach for the longest shadow

But we're all in agreement that Work In Progress is number 1 yeah?

Haha it’s not a bad song, but definitely bottom three on War Paint for me

Work in progress is good but I’d like it more if it ended maybe 40 seconds earlier. I also think that song into nognym is kinda awkward

idk dude, work in progress coming out when it did with where i was at in my life had a profound effect on me, and that's really an understatement.

Work in progress is great but it’s not nearly as dynamic as the rest of the first half

    Good things is definitely boring

I need to see if there's a connection between people who heard that song as the first single before the album came out and loved it, and if people who are meh on it are ones who listened to War Paint after release as a whole.

Since the convo has led to revisiting old albums... just gonna drop this here

Top TDS Songs of All Time in no particular order
    1) War Paint
    2) No One's Gonna Need You More
    3) Waves
    4) Where I Want To Be
    5) Never Feel Alone

6-15 are where it starts to get hard to narrow between so many amazing choices

It'd be hard for me to make a definitive top 5, but for now I'll go with:

    1) War Paint
    2) Where I Want to Be
    3) Symmetry
    4) Miscommunication
    5) Blind Ambition

But also Infinite and Work in Progress aren't far behind.

As someone who first heard this album last month this is how I roughly rank/group em:

    Ngnym
    Everyone left/in my room
    Work in progress
    War paint

    Miscommunication
    I should leave right now
    Waves

    Siren
    Good things

    Parachute

Also potential hot take but I’ve found war paint to be definitively better than rfts. Just seems like a step up in every way.

I think it has more pop than a lot of this new record, which feels listless at times without any songs that slap like on WP.

In case anyone was wondering what was going on with their old drummer tyler:

damn, there are people who for real don't like Parachute? that has one of the best chorus-bridge combos in their discog

I still find myself coming back to this album a lot. It's a breath of fresh air to see the band revived like this after the downs they had. I'm happy with what AJ and the rest have accomplished. Sure, I have some bias against their older albums, not particularly enjoying Golden Record save a few songs but this hit me hard in the best of ways. Excited for the future for them!

I don’t think it’s a bad song but there’s nothing particularly memorable about it for me, it’s jist kinda there

how I feel about Good Things to be totally honest, that should have stayed a bonus track

This is why I Should Leave Right Now is so good! I love the buildup to “I was dying to leave this place I know...”
